Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush Parasol Review and Swatches

Gather round chicks, tis story time.

I have alot of blush. I mean like too many, like I need more faces to wear it all. I know you can all relate to this.

Honestly, after collecting so many blushes, it’s somewhat hard to amaze, delight, or shock me with a new shade as they all starting to run together and in most cases are easily duped by shades I already have in my collection.

However………….!

Drum roll please.

I’m loving Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush in Parasol!

Unique, pretty, and fancy pants packaging…I think me and Parasol are going to go steady for a long time, I might just slip a ring on it!

Jump!

But of course it’s not all about the color…the real quest started out with the packaging as I’m all shallow as hell like that. Imma go ahead and admit that Tarina Tarantino Makeup Collection is thrilling me to bits because it comes housed in blinged out compacts and honestly Tarina could put mud in those compacts and I’d still buy it. I love great packaging, no shame in my game, I admit it.

Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush comes housed in a slick silver compact with a metallic pink plate on the cover which is surrounded by pretty little crystals. Loves it!

I picked up Parasol on a whim but wasn’t expecting much as first swatch it was a tad chalky and uneventful. However, a week later and I’m still all about sporting this on my cheeks. I think I’ve made it six straight days with the same blush on my cheeks…obviously this is turning into a serious relationship as I never sport the same blush in a single week, no way, no how.

Formula is slightly weird as it has a slightly chalky swatch up but it applies dreamy as sweet cream! It has a slightly velvet finish, a bit frosty as well with a subtle little dash of shimmer, nothing crazy. The formula is nice enough but for me it was the color that made the experience so much more richer. Parasol is a shimmering bright pink coral much like NARS Orgasm, the only difference being that Parasol applies dramatically different and it’s probably what many people always wanted Orgasm to be. If you’ve been disappointed with NARS Orgasm I highly suggest trying out Parasol, I think you’ll adore it. The shade has a touch of pink and plenty of sweet peach to create a really warm glow to cheeks. I felt the shade works both warm and cool on my skin and makes my cheeks look quite pretty.

Overall, the unique shade I selected plus the fantastic packaging really made me a lover of Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush. I’m currently debating on more shades as if they apply and look as pretty as Parasol on my face, I’d say we have a winner on our hands!

Loves it!

I just bought Parasol today on my lunch break! It looks gorgeous on you! I can’t wait to get home and try it. I also bought a single eyeshadow in Trim. I’m a sucker for TT packaging as well.

    • the Muse

jenn awesome I think you’re gonna flip for it, it’s gorg! The shadows didn’t thrill me sadly 🙁 but I might have to test further….

  • dina

    • the Muse

hey d! thanks doll you’re way too kind 😀 not only swatch wise but the color in the compact looks utterly boring but it glows once applied 😀

mmmm I dunno…kinda undecided what I think. purchased four shades and kinda muddling through the testing. I’ll swatch it up/review next week for ya 😀

  • LINDARRAGNAR

      • jonnie

I have it on the maybe list… I’ll be putting in an order when the tokidoki lip glosses become available, and of course it has to be over $50 for the free shipping… 😉 I’ve been wanting to try some of the UD quickie blushes though, and I don’t need to buy too many at once… hmm, TT or UD? Decisions, decisions…

        • the Muse

jonnie couldn’t wait, did my TokiDoki order and waiting on the glosses will do the second order lol! quickie blushes?!

  • Hailee

Is te pakaging for tarina, a bit crappy? Haha. Like, it looks cute with all the jewels and stuff, but low quality I guess…even hard candy from walmoart look better!

    • the Muse

  • Tinkerchelle

OOOh! Swatch: Gawwwgeous! On yer face: Gawwwwgeous! This is so going to be mine, it’s already packing it’s bags for the trip home!

  • Sophia

Is that a tulle bag? D: Gross! The color is ~*~gorgeous~*~, though!

    • the Muse

hey sophia yup they package them in a tulle bag prior to slipping into the box!

  • Wendy

Oh man, I wasn’t too interested in these till I saw the packaging! Thank god I don’t have a local Sephora and I have to order from them online – it keeps me from impulse buying. This is lovely on you, thanks for the review.

  • Robyn

🙁 i think im the only person on earth who doesnt like this packaging the blush looks ace though coralish pinkish colours are my favourtie warm me up with out looking unnatural like bronzer etc

    • the Muse

what’s your tone robyn!? I always find corals work fab fo me 😀

      • Robyn

the best way to describe my tone is probably vampire lol
im lighter than the lightest mac nc/nw 15 i always forget which is lighter (i use illamasqua) i would say im probably pretty neautral toned but i have a lot of redness across my chin/forehead so i wear yellow toned to counter act as long as its not drugstore orange its cool

coral just always seems to look lovelly if i forget blush or wear too pale a pink i have to endure “are you ok?” “are you sure!?” “you should sit down” “go home” all day sounds funny when i type it but its not its annoying

  • Emily

Parasol looks really pretty! I want Parasol and Carved Rose, simply because I don’t have any pink blushes quite like it. How is the staying power of Parasol?

    • the Muse

beautiful Em! Seems to have lasted all day well after my BB cream wore away I was still sporting pretty peach cheeks!

  • Beauty Maven

I played with this line at Sephora today! Did you fiddle with the Sparklicity Shimmer Dust?? In the old school perfume packaging— I thought it was super cool but not certain how often it would be used to justify the $39 price tag, eek!
Thanks for the review!! I just barely messed with the blush and it seemed chalky to me at first site– glad to know how great it is! Do you think the foundation might be the same?? Review to come?? =)

    • the Muse

I actually purchased the loose version beauty maven, couldn’t resist! I couldn’t justify the $39 either and decided at least the loose was easier to apply on lids! It’s very chalky but it applies smooth and dreamy 😀 Review to come on the foundation 😀

  • Mollie

This is reeeeeeeally pretty on you! I love it. =)

You know, Orgasm works sometimes on me, but usually I like something more along the lines of theBalm’s Cabana Boy, which I’ve tried & loved, but never bought. I don’t know what color family CB falls into! If I did maybe I would have more success with blush. Anywho- Parasol is lovely!

    • the Muse

aw thanks mollie you’re to kind! I love Cabana Boy myself 😀 Gosh I dunno it’s kinda rosy but bronze and a bit dirty..it’s a unique shade!

  • Mi

Very very pretty packaging. I love it! It looks like something a princess would have! The blush looks very pretty and natural on you too. Love your blog!

  • Gloria

I’ve bought a blush in Charm and a gloss in Lacquer. I love the gloss as it’s sticky but not toooo sticky, and feels so great.

Their eye shadows are awesome too. Baby Sparkles is adorable, but I love Stick Pin. It’s nude but peachy and a little shimmery but not too shimmery. Looks great on soo many people.

    Loves it!

    • the Muse

gloria haven’t tried the glosses yet but looking forward to it 😀 I wasn’t too wild about the shadows but must swatch and play a bit more 😀

      Thanks for the mini review!

  • Asuka

Marvelous look! Muse, that may be the most flattering cheek color you’ ve ever shown on the web!

  • Angela K

I know this is an old post, but you look absolutely stunning in this blush. It really brings out a golden tone in your skin & highlights your features well.
