Lush has always been dedicated to strong green values including never testing on animals! This Earth Day stop by your local Lush and check out the new Knot-Wrap. Just in time for Earth Day (and Mother’s Day) Lush has replaced it’s traditional gift wrap in stores with a new Knot-Wrap station that will use stylish, reusable scarves to wrap up your goodies!

A Japanese Furoshiki-inspired technique, Knot-Wrap ($6.95) uses LUSH-ious scarves, either made of recyclable materials or vintage fabrics, to package your products in a fashionably and environmentally-friendly way. These scarves can be used and reused in a variety of ways (purse, grocery bag, décor, etc.) and can be wrapped (in origami-style) to carry products of all shapes and sizes.

Lumene Finland recently introduced a new line called Excellent Future, which takes a natural approach to anti-aging. The line features the exclusive Applexcell™ technology, which combines modern Apple Stem Cell Extract from a rare and endangered apple species known as Uttwiler Spätlauber with hydrating Arctic White Peat. The products are over 85% natural and deliver impressive results for less than $30, whereas competitive products offer similar technology for $250+.

Beyond offering premium skincare products that are composed of 80% natural ingredients, Lumene Finland is also committed to reducing its environmental footprint. The clean rivers, forests and marshlands of the Finnish wilderness offer an abundance of rare ingredients that Lumene has found to offer a refreshingly potent and effective solution to skincare. The company takes great strides in ensuring that those natural resources are used wisely. Also, this past year, the company launched the WaterSmart Program, which focuses on reducing water consumption in product development and production. Lumene Finland encourages consumers, along with other beauty companies, to invest in smart water consumption and other positive environmental practices, not just during April Earth Month, but all year long.

I’ll be showing you a few of the new Lumene Excellent Future products this week and tomorrow giving away an entire gift basket of them. Happy Days!

Happy Earth Day from the Muse!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Those Lush wraps are sooo cute! I just bought stuff from them though… Don’t need anything else right now. Oh well, I suppose they’ll be around later.

As I said in some other post today, I’ve been loving on Korres Q&O stuff lately. I may have to buy the night cream with the free shipping (I was holding out hoping there would be a sale!). My face seems to adore the day cream and the primer, and at 31 it’s high time I started focusing on aging preventative measures! I don’t seem to need the same kind of skin care I used to. I really like their cherry lip gloss too…

Lush I have a love/hate thing with. I want to like their stuff, but the soaps and shower gels dry me out horribly. The face care I used to love (other than moisturizers… I could never find one of those that did it for me), but I guess my skin changed or something because now I don’t really care for it (other than Mask of Magnaminty!). I started using Aveda hair products because all their hair care stripped the color out of my hair, even though I loved the smell and feel of them. Now pretty much the only Lush products I use are the MoM, Breath of Fresh Air (I’d used Eau Roma Water a lot before but was feeling pretty meh about it and stopped. I decided to try BoFA on your opinion and I LOVE it!), Lemony Flutter, massage bars on my BF, and the occasional bath bomb as a treat (love Sex Bomb!).

Burt’s Bees is my favorite lip balm… I love the tingly peppermint feeling. 🙂 I also like their lemon cuticle butter, but I like Lemony Flutter better.

Tarte I haven’t had good luck with. I used Juice Beauty SPF lip balm when I was deployed… it was nice but I wouldn’t leave Burt’s for it, SPF or no. Other than those, I don’t think I’ve used too many “green” makeup products.

So many good things. I really like the colors of those Lancome glosses.

I need more makeup thats not tested one animals, as I have decided that all my cosmetics need to be cruelty free. But that leaves only lush! Any more affordable ( I’m a teenager) cosmetics not tested on animal?

    • jonnie

Urban Decay is cruelty-free and they have a lot of vegan products as well, if that’s something that also interests you. I don’t know what your level of affordable is, but if you’re good with the cost of Lush products you probably wouldn’t be appalled at UD’s pricing…

  • Ally

    Hey Muse,

I was just wondering, do you use cruelty-free products? What with your great reviews and the amount of exposure your site receives, it would be great if you advocated the animal-friendly route 😀

    • the Muse

I’m an animal lover but it’s very hard to be completely conscious of cruelty free products as well as ones with good ingredients since I over expose myself to everything for my site.
