Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer Review and Swatches

Dude, anyone been lurking around the Target Beauty aisles? Guilty! Every time I hit up Target I head over to beauty first, can’t help myself I like to sniff the Soap and Glory and sigh happily while other chicks in the aisles give me weird looks.

Pixi has a new primer out that you may wanna check out. I already played around with it a little bit myself so check it after the jump!

What Is It?

A mattifying primer for smoothing out fine lines and large pores while creating a matte finish and keeping your foundation long lasting.

The Good….

This quite reminds me of Too Faced Primed and Poreless but with a way cuter name, Pixi Flawless and Poreless…..ha, I’m easily amused but I dig the name, must be the rhyming. It comes packaged up in a light green squeeze tube with a precise nozzle for easy, mess-free distribution. The formula is for the most part transparent but like the Too Faced Primer its every so slightly tinted with a nude, flesh tone so it kinda does a nice job of brightening up your face and refreshing dull spots as it primes.

The formula feels like a cross between a cream and a silicone base. Its slippery and hydrating yet has that powdery dry feel of a silicone primer. It applies easily and blends out beautifully well without pilling or feeling uncomfortable on your skin. I felt like it absorbed easily but still managed to create a thin layer on your skin for your foundation to sit happily on top of.

Sadly, I have smaller pores so I can’t honestly say if this did much to hide them.

The Bad….

Whoa nelly! This made my skin greasy and oily as hell. It feels fantastic going on in the AM but as the day progresses I felt really slippery around the sides of my nose and on my forehead. Sadly, I’m a little upset that it didn’t make my foundation last any longer than it normally did. It’s 1.01 oz in size and $28 which made me wince slightly as I can grab a higher end for the same price or even the Too Faced which is almost the same size for $30.

Who Might Like It?

  • You may like it you’re looking for a hydrating primer that doesn’t pill or have that uncomfortable silicone feel to it.
  • You might love it since its easy to pick up during a Target run rather than having to wait to head to Sephora or a counter to grab your primer.

Who Might Not Like It?

  • Anyone who needs a well balanced primer that excels at concealing larger pores and allowing foundation to last longer.

Final Thoughts…..

Sadly, this one didn’t work for me. I felt like the price was just a little too much plus add to the fact that the $28 made me sob a little inside and you have one unhappy Muse. The formula has the potential to be really great as I love a primer that preps my face with a hydrating formula that has a natural finish and doesn’t feel like I have a ton of makeup on. However, it made me greasy as hell in the long run and didn’t make my foundation last at all.

This one was a bust for me.

Anyone try it?

Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer is available at Target.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse.
