Urban Decay Face Case Review and Swatches
So you’re broke….or you simply can’t dish out a ton of cash on costly makeup at the moment but you still got a yearning, burning need to own some seriously fierce makeup. Seriously, imagine a world full of wicked makeup that costs mere pennies to own. That’s probably what heaven is like.
I’m a genie today because I can make your wishes for affordable makeup come true and you won’t have to forgo the quality either.
Jump ahead to discover the joys of the Urban Decay Face Case, a case of makeup that’s superfly slim and will only cost you, drum roll, a mere $14 bucks to own!
See told you I can grant wishes. Let’s say $14 for three Urban Decay Eye Shadows, one Urban Decay Blush, and three Urban Decay Lip Glosses, I’m damn generous aren’t I?
What is it?
A stupid cool slim line case (VERY slim and handy for traveling) packed full of Urban Decay cosmetics for a mere $14 bucks.
The Good…
Pretty cute little case kids and likely worth your bucks if you’ve never tried Urban Decay before or you’re already a fan (because you’re so going to want the blush at the very least).
The case is pretty tiny and is a little thicker than a credit card and rather ideal for traveling, toting around, etc….It contains three shadows which are Grifter (Soft Lilac with Silver Glitter), Midnight Cowboy Rides Again (Beige Shimmering Pink), and Twice Baked (Chocolate-y bronze) plus you’ll also get three Urban Decay XXX Lip Glosses in Carney (Nude Pink), Naked (Rosy Nude Pink), and Love Junkie (Bitten Berry). If it wasn’t enough that they stacked in six products in such a small space they also included a rather fab shade of blush exclusive to this palette at the moment called Hookup (Sorta NARS Orgasm-like sans shimmer and glitter!). Hookup for me was the best part of the palette as I simply adore peachy shades of blush.
The palette is pretty ideal for those who are traveling and wanting a little bit of bling in their look while away on vacay as it makes it easy to tote around alot of makeup in a smaller space plus you aren’t left worrying about your precious stash (have you seen the way airlines treat train cases? So not pretty!).
As with all UD products the pigmentation on everything is rather fab aside from the glosses which are pretty subtle. The case also includes a small dual ended brush but I’d recommend using these particular shades of shadow with a sponge tip, less fall out that way!
The Bad….
As I mentioned it’s alot of makeup in a small space which causes alot of kick up where shadow is ending up in the blush and blush is ending up in the glosses etc….a little messy so you have to be careful how you use it and you shouldn’t experience to much woe. I’m a fond lover of glitter, shimmer, and sparkle but some might be a tad disappointed that Grifter and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again both have a considerably amount of glitter/shimmer in the mix.
Who Might Love It?
- Anyone who adores really sweet little makeup palettes!
- Anyone traveling that wants a cute palette that carries a few shadows, gloss, etc…without taking a ton of space.
- Anyone who loves Urban Decay!
- Anyone who likes Urban Decay Blush and is hyped over a new shade (Hook Up is gorgeous).
- Anyone who’s never tried Urban Decay Cosmetics before and always wanted to indulge (This gives you a little bit of everything to try out).
Who Might Not Love It?
- Anyone who doesn’t like how messy palettes like this can sometimes be!
- Anyone who isn’t keen on shimmery shades of shadow.
Final Thoughts…..
Personally I think it’s an incredible beauty budget buy as it lets you get a little taste of Urban Decay Cosmetics without breaking the bank. Seriously? $14? You can’t not afford that particularly if you are spending that on a single piece of crappy drugstore makeup. I think it’s rather a nice set for younger girls who are smitten with sparkly shades or anyone heading to a beach-y, warm climate this Summer (the sparkly shades will look great on lids when you’re sporting a golden tan).
(Sporting Grifter and Midnight Cowboy Rides Again on my lids, Hook Up Blush on my cheeks, and Love Junkie on my lips)
Quite cute!
Loves it!
