Benefit Scene Queen The New Anne Collection Review and Swatches
Benefit Scene Queen The New Anne Collection steals my heart this week with its sultry shades of blue that lend a certain mystery to my eyes plus paired up with my very favorite blush from Benefit, Coralista, this one could prove to be a winner for many.

Benefit Co-Founders Jean and Jane Ford recently expanded their legacy to include Maggie and Annie Ford Danielson, Jean’s daughters, Jane’s nieces, and Benefit’s new Makeup Trend Artists. Benefit Scene Queen The New Anne Collection is one of two new palettes introduced by Maggie and Annie which feature several Benefit favs, a how to guide, and a cute pallete turned desktop mirror vanity for application!
Benefit Scene Queen The New Anne Collection is more of a night on the town palette where as the other palette release, Sunday Funday, has more daytime shades.
The palette includes makeup for eyes, lips, and cheeks which allows for you to create two looks (or as many as you like with a little creativity). In the last year or so Benefit has started to include how-to instructions with just about everything they release. I love this feature as it gives step by step details to achieve a look, use a product, etc…..I can always use help in the application department and the how to guide is solid gold for those who can use a bit of help! These particular instructions include details to create a smoky eye look or a sultry evening look.
Within the palette you get the following items:
- Benefit High Beam (mini size)
- Benefit Coralista (mini size)
- Benefit Lip Shine in Juicy Coral (full size)
- Benefit Smokin’ Liner
- Benefit Eyeshadows in Charcoal, Shimmering Beige, Misty Blue, and Navy
The shadows are all richly pigmented and buttery smooth. They blend beautifully when cocktailed together or used separately. I was impressed most with the Smokin’ Liner as it has such a rich, pigmented formula that glides on and leaves behind an impressive pop of color. This is my first time trying a liner from Benefit and it has made me want to explore further. Benefit Coralista needs know commentary from me as I’ve said it all before and finally Juicy Coral Lip Shine is such a pleasant little surprise that compliments Coralista beautifully. The gloss is highly pigmented with a slightly drier formula but lovely none the less.
The set includes dual sides brush/liner applicator as well for easy application on the go with a full size mirror that props itself up in two notches of the palette so you can do your makeup on the go at your office desk if you so please.
I thought pairing up blues and the likes with warmer shades such as Coralista would be a strange combo but turns out they work well together to create a warm, sultry look.
Charcoal is a blackish, gray blue, Misty Blue is a dirty skin blue, Navy is a rich navy blue, and Shimmering Beige is a champagne beige. All the shades are great as evening wear but can easily be used as a sophisticated, work friendly day look as well when done up correctly.
Thankfully there are no creams in the palette so even though the shadows kick up a bit of dust they aren’t creating a major mess with other items in the palette.
The Coralista included is a tad small as is the brush so it’s a little tiny difficult to work with however once you get a knack for it, you’ll be good to go but you prob can’t use your own blush brush to get color out since the well is so tiny.
I’ve of the mentality that anyone can sport just about any shade of shadow however I know some of you tend to stay clear of certain shades. In this case, some may find the navy and blues a bit too much and the entire bruised eye or actuating dark circles may come into effect here.
They included everything in this case but I’d have loved a mini mascara to complete it!
- Anyone looking for an all in one palette to deal with lips, eyes, and cheeks!
- Anyone who likes Benefit makeup and wants more of it for less ($38 yo!)
- Anyone wanting to try a range of various Benefit makeup items (you get to try out a few items from Benefit in this palette).
- Anyone who has brown eyes (these blues will make them pop!)
- Anyone who likes a mysterious, sultry look that’s clean and pretty.
- Anyone who can’t pull off navy or richer blues due to dark circles or fairer skin.
The Benefit Scene Queen The New Anne Collection has alot to offer for those wishing to achieve two solid looks. The looks are smart, clean, and lend a certain mystery to eyes. You get a fair bit of product in the palette and the actual design of the palette is rather fab as well and quite sturdy for its cardboard medium. I loved the how-to guide as it made application easy and fun. All in all a very nice palette from Benefit with a nice selection of product. I’ll be purchasing Sunday Funday next since I liked this so much.

Quite a great one for Benefit newbies or old fans.
