Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer in Smoky Plus Kat Von D Adora Collection

Hey there.

Thought I’d do a little filling in the details on the Kat Von D Adora Collection release. I mentioned this last week but I got the official release information and I thought you’d all appreciate the full details.

Yay?

Also did you know they are releasing the new Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer in Smoky?! I loved the original Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer so kinda wanting to try the Smoky version!

Check it!

Kat Von D, tattoo artist, reality TV star, and owner of High Voltage Tattoo, introduces an array of exciting new cosmetics that are right on trend for Fall 2010, all presented exclusively at Sephora. Known for her edgy color collection that exemplifies old-Hollywood glamour with a modern twist, Kats new High Voltage Eye Primer in Smoky, Adora Love & Fury Eyeshadow Palette, Painted Love Lipstick in Adora and Adora Traincase capture the daring and smoldering intensity of the season.

  • Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer in Smoky ($15)

The first primer to be created exclusively for smoky eye looks, this advanced formula preps your eyelids with a high coverage, gray tinted base that intensifies eyeshadow pigment to give colors a deeper, darker look. Shadows blend easily then lock in place without smudging or creasing for all day wear.

  • Kat Von D Adora Love & Fury Eyeshadow Palette ($34)

This latest addition to the True Romance range of eyeshadow palettes represents the next evolution of Kats two sides, Saint and Sinner. Shades of frosty whites and silvers, sexy blacks and deep maroons transform in cream and powder textures for endless looks.

  • Kat Von D Adora Painted Love Lipstick ($18)

Kat transforms the classic red lip with an intense metallic finish with new Adora. This innovative, hydrating and long-lasting formulation is rich in color and shine, adding an essential burst of rock n roll glam to any look. Limited Edition

  • Kat Von D Adora Traincase ($150)

Functional and beautiful, this traincase is a work of art, showcasing a hand-sketched, art nouveau-inspired exterior design reflective of her deep layers, stories and scars. The interior is finished in soft, red fabric with enough compartments to keep all your gear in check. Limited Edition

The collection will be available from Sephora as of August 2010 and is already available for sale online.

By the way…..

Here are a few tips and tricks from Sephora Principal Artist, Jose Rivera for creating the perfect smoky eye using the new Kat Von D Palette and Primer from the video above.

“An eye primer is essential in creating the smoky eye because of all the layering and blending you need to do with dark, rich pigment shadows,” says José Rivera, Principal Artist for Sephoras PRO Beauty Team. “This primer not only helps shadows stay put, but the darker color blends seamlessly and enhances the smoky effect.”

José created a fun smoky eye tutorial video featuring the new Kat Von D High Voltage Eye Primer in Smoky, the Adora Love & Fury Eyeshadow Palette and the Adora Painted Love Lipstick.

Josés Smoky Eye Tips:

  • Blend High Voltage Eye Primer in Smoky on the lid and under the eye
  • Dust the brush with shadow, invert it at an angle and press it into the lashline
  • Press and feather out color as you move the brush upwards and outwards using smooth strokes
  • Smudge the shadow under the eye along the lashline
  • Finish the eye look with a strong lash by curling and applying several coats of rich black mascara

Anyone wanting to indulge in the Kat Von D Adora Collection?

I’m gonna say me, me, me!

Looks gorg!

really? until August. damn it. I went to sephora last week hoping they would have and they didn’t. But I didn’t know I had to wait until August. I guess I have to order online now.

I think the brushes in the palette actually look pretty nice. This collection wouldn’t be for me though… I’m a neutral girl. : )

  • Tohnia

I got my adora palette in the mail yesterday and it is freakin amazing!!!!! The 2nd color from the right, I have no idea what the name if it is, is this deep deep maroon with glitter. So pretty!!! When I opened the palette I was like “oooooohhhhhhh” lol!! I haven’t used it yet, but can’t wait to play around!!!

    • the Muse

me too lauren and it was broke. I’m going to curl up and die now..k bye. LOL

I’ve never tried anything from Kat Von D, but this is the ONLY pallet I would purchase and I love make up. However, I usually only purchase UD, MAC & sometimes Smashbox, Too Faced, Benefit or Hard Candy. I have NEVER purchased a pallet from any brand, as there are ALWAYS colors that I would NEVER use mixed in, especially UD pallets. As for the Kat Von D one, I would use every color in this beautiful pallet! And the primer….OMG! I am going to get this! I haven’t tried her original one, I use TFSI or UDPP, but her prices seem much more reasonable, especially Benefit!! $24 for a Primer!?! Ouch! I don’t understand why Benefit is soooo pricey, but I will defiantly save my money and get this Pallet & both Primers!! 🙂

Oh and BTW-Why are so many items ONLY available @ Sephora? I’ve had quiet a few bad experiences there w/Customer Service & now, only shop online. Are there any other places that sell Kat Von D, The newer UD shadows-IE: Aquarius, Woodstock & some other brands? Are they just exclusively @ Sephora now? Will they ever be available else where later? Thank you so much!!

    Chelsea 🙂

      hi chelsea.

Kat Von D cosmetics is actually made by sephora so you won’t see it anywhere else sadly. Some exclusives to Sephora do occasionally pop up on QVC.

      Hope this helps 🙂
