The Balm Balmbini: Babies of theBalm Face Palette and the Balm Batter Up Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow: the Balm Fall Collection 2010

So, story time…

I’ve been stalking the Balm daily to see if they release anything new. I sweat that brand so hard. I was kinda hopeful they’d surprise us with a new blush like last year’s Down Boy but sadly no such luck.

However, good news, they do have a brand new palette and new cream shadows to enjoy.

This Fall I’m seeing two trends that keep popping up time and time again one of which is cream shadows. Alot of brands seem to be dancing to the tune of creamy shadows. Not sure why this is trending at the moment since I think most prefer powder over cream however it is an interesting development particularly for those who enjoy using cream as a base for powder.

Not to be outdone in the world of trends the Balm Batter Up Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow heads up the Balm Fall Collection 2010. It seems they embraced the packaging from the Overshadows but not nearly as cute since the girl featured is only a silhouette. Shades are limited but this isn’t anything new as the brand tends to do smaller releases and not huge ones. The release features a total of four shades which lean towards being more nude and natural.

Shades Include:

  • Base Hit Kit (soft golden glow)
  • Grand Slam Pam (raisin shimmer)
  • Home Plate Kate (hint of sheer rose)
  • Triple Play Mae (warm shimmering mocha)

These are $18 each for 0.18 oz which is a deal compared to the much smaller Bare Escentuals Buxom Stay There Eyeshadow at $17 for 0.12 oz however variety could prevent you from indulging.

None the less I love the Balm so I might give one shade a try at the very least.

The Balm Balmbini: Babies of theBalm Face Palette ($28) could appeal to those who haven’t tried the brand before as it contains some popular items from the Balm for eyes, lips, and cheeks plus a face chart for reference.

With this one you’ll get:

Cute eh? I have much of what’s in this palette but it’s a great one for those who don’t own any of these items.

thanks for this post! i discovered theBALM at my local Rexall drug store a couple weeks ago!! I was sweating Down Boy sooo hard so when i saw a stack of them sitting at the display i did a celebration dance in the isle! im in love with it!! HG blush for me in fact! mary lou manizer is next on my TB hit list but it’s the only thing that i’m lusting after from this palette since I already have a generous helping of Down Boy in my stash now. I’ll probably just buy the full size Manizer. Do you have swatches of it at all Muse? My cosmetic life revolves around your reviews!!

I have been wanting to try their products for the longest but never really get down to buying them. Guess now is the perfect “excuse” for myself to add this palette to my already “overflow” collection of cosmetics. (:

Oh my, I just hauled at sephora, for a few lovlies, and I really like combo palettes, gives me the best of both worlds. I hope they get this soon, i love racking up those BI points for freebies. I bought the one that had a tiny hot mama, and three lip items, so love that. I am lemming the lou-manizer as well. I need a new place to put my make up….

  • kiwikiwidragon

I don’t see it on thebalm website, could you link it directly Muse?

    • the Muse

hey kiwi balm hasn’t updated yet but links to sephora enclosed in the post 😀

  • Shay

Went straight to Sephora after seeing this post, and ordered the palette. Having owned a couple of products from TheBalm, I knew this would be perfect. It just arrived today. It is perfect. 🙂

Fully and completely. The packaging is so pretty, and the limited edition lipgloss is a really flattering tint, and I love the texture. Now I’m full of “do want, must have” feelings for more of their lipglosses!

        • the Muse

aw that’s awesome shay 😀 sounds gorgggggggggggg! 😀 I get the do not want, must have feelings ALOT lol

  • Promise

Dang! I just bought Hot Mama on eBay for 14.50, but for 13.50 I could’ve gotten this palette with much more that I want! Plus, I want to quit buying on eBay because I’ve heard you can get fakes. *Sigh*
If I had only read this post first. I’ll probably still buy it, though. 🙁
