Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer Review and Swatches
Too Faced Fall 2010 is at Sephora already w00t! First thing to capture my attention is the new Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer because I’m a junkie when it comes to concealers.
Jump!
Full coverage concealer with an innovative blend of Natural Marine Peptides and hyaluronic filling spheres to help increase eye area’s hydration level to smooth surface imperfections.
Humid climate dwellers will find the absolute joy in this product. Too Faced Absolutely Flawless Concealer is solid gold, bulletproof joy. You can sit in the sun all day with crazy amounts of humidity, go swimming, take a shower, sweat, work out, and your concealer will last well into the next decade until you decide to remove it. This is absolutely the longest wearing concealer I have ever tried and believe me I tried WAY too many to count.
Blame the formula for the long wear as it has a very interesting texture that feels somewhat like a rubber band. The consistency of the product is quite thick with a rubbery feel that’s HIGHLY pigmented. Dark circles? Gone. Acne? Gone. Scarring? Gone. Tattoos? Possibly could conceal those too! It’s very richly pigmented and a little tiny, itty bitty dab will do you well. I made the mistake of applying the size of a pen point under my eyes and THAT was too much. Just a tiny dab will do the trick, don’t go crazy.
Coverage is pretty flawless however a few down falls….
I find it best to apply with a dome headed concealer brush so you can brush the concealer under your eyes. Don’t try patting and don’t try rubbing because it ends up sitting on top of your skin. Brush it on gently and proceed to pat to get the smoothest application. Patting into place results in creasing into fine lines so use the brush first and than pat gently for an airbrushed finish.
Color selection is super limited to three shades. Any filling or erasing of fine lines probably won’t really happen, it conceals yes but peptides in the formula haven’t made any major difference under my eyes but only been using a week, so maybe I’ll eat my words in a month.
I don’t find it incredibly hydrating or moisturizing. The rubbery texture does feel creamy however not as creamy as say Bobbi Brown concealer. I think the lack of a emollient formula does make blending a little bit of a pain so you have to patiently apply, no rush jobs here.
I got Vanilla and it’s way too light. I want to try Perfect Nude but I’m worried it’ll be too beige….so shades are a problem.
Towards the end of the day I needed a bit of touching up as it started to crease a fair bit HOWEVER when I used alot less I didn’t experience this problem!
- Anyone who needs sweat proof, waterproof, stay all day concealing power!
- Anyone who needs a richly pigmented concealer to conceal dark circles, fine lines, redness, acne, etc…
- Anyone who wants to quickly apply and go (you need a little patience and time to get it on just right).
- Anyone who wants a SUPER powered concealer!
- Anyone with younger eyes (I think younger eyes who are suffering from lack of sleep and the likes will see a great potential in this).
- Anyone with older eyes, wrinkles, and/or finer lines (it has the potential to crease into fine lines without proper application so be aware).
- Anyone who wants a super moisturizing concealer for dry under eyes (I didn’t find it crazy hydrating).
This was an interesting one and warrants a pick up however I’m a tad disappointed about the shade selection. I thought Vanilla would be ideal for me however it’s far to light so I may buy the second shade and mix a bit. The coverage is flawless and it makes my eyes very fresh and awake but it can easily be over done so I have to be very careful during application. If you have serious baggage and woe going under your eyes this is definitely one to check out. It has serious potential to be a great concealer but Too Faced does need to work on the shades a tad bit. It’s probably one of the longest wearing concealers I’ve tried in my makeup life which makes it a gem of a product and ideal for those in warmer, humid climates.
Likey very much!
