A range of limited edition duos from Wet n Wild priced at $2.99 each!
I picked these little guys up on a pure whim not expecting much but being pleasantly surprised. For the most part, Wet n Wild packaging does fail to excited me but the new Craze range has some pretty nifty little packaging that quite reminds me of Kat Von D’sRock n Roll Eyeshadow Duos. They are black and pretty flimsy but still manage to bring the kawaii to the table with a cute thin design that features a tattoo style floral motif around the outer edges of the compact.
Inside you’ll find two contrasting shades of shadow that’s pretty rich in pigment for the $2.99 price tag. I’m not sure how many duos released but I seen about five at my local drugstore but they had some empty spaces on the display so it could be more. Shadow texture seems to vary from color to color as some come across a bit chalky while others have a smoother, richer formula.
The colors I got were Tequila Sunrise (coppery penny and mauv-ish pink), I Dream of Greenie (lime and grass green), and Blue My Mind (shimmering silver and matte midnight blue).
Out of the three I thought that Tequila Sunrise and Blue My Mind had the better formulas as the shimmery shades came across metallic-like on my eyes and blended quite dreamy with plenty of pigmentation. I Dream of Greenie isn’t quite a matte formula but comes across as a combination of both matte and velvet, sadly this one has a bit of a chalky formula but still pigment wise it does pack a nice punch.
I thought some of the shades just didn’t go so great together, either that or I lack imagination. For example Tequila Sunrise seems like a mismatched duo of copper and pink…..mmm I guess with a little imagination you can create a great look but pairing up the shade with gold or cranberry would work better in my opinion. Ditto for Blue My Mind as I assume they want you to line with the midnight blue but a black shade would have been more suitable for a smokey eye effect.
Shadow formula is good with plenty of pigment and a nice blend however they aren’t HIGH end and you can obviously tell when working with the medium.
Formula seems to vary depending on the finish of the product as stated above some shades came across chalky.
- College and back to schoolers on a budget!
- Anyone who likes cheap kawaii makeup purchases (these are pretty cute!)
- Budget shoppers looking for cheap yet decent quality eyeshadow!
- Makeup snobs (if you’re a high end snob chances are you won’t likey!).
If you’re beauty budget is on the small side and you really dig on cuter makeup purchases, I think you’ll enjoy the Wet n Wild Craze Eyeshadow Duos. These are cute, affordable, and have a pretty decent formula to back them up. Not bad at all!
