Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam Review

Collagen wash, one of Asia’s best sellers. Collagen Wash or Foaming Facial Washes are a pretty hot commodity within Asia. Every brand has one. I have literally dozens of the damn things under my sink, in my vanity cabinet, etc….Since I’m such a fond fan of Asian Beauty, owning several collagen washes isn’t any great surprise.

Now we don’t really have this type of cleanser at the drugstore here in the US. Normally our cleansers range in the foaming gel variety or creams. Now if you’ve always wanted to try a traditional Asian foaming cleanser, you might be interested in Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam as it sports a very similar formula to Asian collagen and foaming cleansers plus it’s a formula that keeps face hydrated.

Check it!

A foaming cleanser that helps eliminate makeup, impurities, oil, etc…without overly stripping skin and leaving it soft and hydrated after use.

I’m not partial to cleansers purchased at US drugstores but in my day I’ve come across a few I do like and Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam happens to be one.

If you’ve used Asian foaming cleansers before you’ll be very familiar with this formula as it has a heavier, creamier texture which lathers up and creates mounds of foam. The cleanser whisks away oil and makeup super fast and has a friendly shampoo-like scent, kinda apple, floral, clean smelling to my nose. It’s an ideal shower cleanser in my opinion as you can work it up into a fine foam in the shower, wash your face, and easily rinse in one go.

It does a fairly good job on makeup as well but I suggest using an oil based remover prior on eyes to remove shadow, mascara, liner, etc….

Best part?

It does not strip my skin nor does it dry it out. I have bad experiences with drugstore cleansers where I am left feeling like my skin is two sizes too small for my face. I become dry, itchy, and flaky after use however using this I experience no such problem and my face feels fine after use.

I wouldn’t say it delivered incredible moisture to my skin sadly nor did I feel anymore hydrated coming out than I did going in but at least it didn’t dry me out which is a plus!

  • Anyone who wants a super cheap drugstore cleanser that won’t dry their skin out!
  • Anyone looking for a good AM cleanser that works well in the shower!

  • Anyone who prefers oil removers (this is more of a lathering cleanser so if you depend on oil based removers to remove makeup you probably won’t love it).

I really love using an oil based cleanser at the end of the night to get all my makeup off however Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Fresh Cleansing Foam is an ideal cleanser for my morning routine and makes a fine companion in the shower. It doesn’t leave my face feeling incredibly moist but it does get me squeaky clean without drying me out which is a plus in my book plus can’t beat the under 6 buck price tag.

Likey lots!

The Garnier Nutritioniste Moisture Rescue Collection has been rather successful!

    I love this product!
And I agree, must use an eye makeup remover with this. I usually do it before washing my face and use a qtip for clean up afterwards. (but nothing gets off all my mascara ever by itself)

It hasn’t freaked my skin out, nor does it strip it and doesn’t leave any residue on my face. And now I finally know what an asian cleansing product feels like!

    • the Muse

Agreed Jo. I always use eye makeup remover prior even when using an oil cleanser ;-D ha ;-D you do indeed. You need to send me your address girl, I’ll send ya some Asian goodies to get addicted to!

      • hannah

what are these asian goodies you speak of…. my parents are there so i just might have them buy me stuff….

        • the Muse

hi hannah there are alot of ones I like just check my categories for Japanese Cosmetics, Asian Brands, and Korean Brands and you’ll come across PLENTY 🙂

Hey! New person here lol, been reading your site for a while now, love your reviews 🙂 I’ve only recently got into skincare and cosmetics and I’ve been trying to find a good cleanser that lathers/foams well because I’m the type of person where if it doesn’t lather I don’t think it’s cleaning lol. Anyways I really wanna try this, I’ve been using Bliss’s fabulous foaming face wash for a while now but it doesn’t foam that much (even when I use it with my Clarasonic) So yeah, definitely gonna pick this up as soon as I head out 🙂

    • the Muse

hi cj welcome to my site ;-D thank you! so happy to read your comment ;-D Bliss is ok but a little expensive and doesn’t do that fab a job in the foaming department ;-D If you want something good for the clarisonic try out Purity from Philosophy or Lush’s 9 to 5 Cleanser ;-D This is great one too if you want super lather 😀

      • Cj

I actually went out yesterday and bought the cleanser and matching moisturizer and used them last night and in the morning, I’m really liking them so far. After I use the cleanser my face feels 100% clean and really nice, and the gel-cream absorbs really quickly. Now I just need to figure out what to do with all the Bliss stuff I bought lol

        • the Muse

awesome CJ! So happy to hear it ;-D got it at sephora? Return it if so 😀

          • Cj

I did get it at Sephora but it was in Orlando when I was on vacation and sadly there isn’t a Sephora where I live. But it’s cool I’ll probably end up giving them to one of my friends lol

aw damn cj sorry babe 😛 that stinks! you can def give it away or keep it in your cabinet, you might go back to it, never know eh?

  • Jessica Allison

I’ve never tried this one, but Estee Lauder makes one that u used for quite a while. Sadly, even foaming cleansers for dry skin leave my skin feeling tighter than I like, so I tend to stay away. It is good to know this could be an option if I ever need a fast, easy to find fix (like when I forget things while traveling!) thanks for the review!

    • the Muse

aw sorry Jessica. I have a prob with tightness too so I have to be careful what I use. You might wanna try this, it’s one of the few drugstore cleansers that didn’t make me tight!

  • Dee

That’s really interesting…I wonder why all Asian face washes contain collagen..maybe the climate is drying or smth…

Thanks for letting us know :)))

estee lauder make one called soft clean that has the same texture, a cream that had lots of lather, it made my skin really pure & soft. i like these types of cleansers because they’re deep cleansing yet moisturising.

    • the Muse

I love the deep clean feel too. EL’s is a bit pricey compared to this though 😀

  • MC

Have you tried the Moisture Rescue Refreshing Gel-Cream from the line? I have coupon I want to use but no one I know has I tried it.

  • LorraineER

I love my gel moisturizer from them and now I love this stuff. I just started using it for days when my skin is dry and it’s fab. I am a fan of their haircare because it usually does what it claims to which I’ve found many budget brands don’t. I’m so glad they are offering skincare too and I look forward to trying more of it.
