MAC A Tartan Tale Color Collection Review and Swatches
At first glance I wasn’t sure I needed the MAC A Tartan Tale but soon after I seen the eyeshadows and promptly fell in love.
The shadows are so gorg and fun you’ll probably want ’em after seeing this post.
Let’s check out a few pieces from the MAC A Tartan Tale Color Collection.
The MAC Tartan Tale Eye Shadow are so fierce. I absolutely adore the plaid design. The design isn’t an over spray and should last through a few uses with the powder but may wear away as you get deeper in but regardless it does seem like it may stick around a fair bit however the lines that run through the plaid do disappear after a few strokes however the raised pattern remains. The shadows are not the typical MAC standard size, these guys are Mineralized Eye Shadow size.
I got two to pay around with today and can honestly say I’ll probably buy a few more just because I 1. love the packaging and 2. feel like some of the shades are unique enough to warrant a purchase.
The two I got were Golden Crown which is a light frosty gold with bronze striping and Enviably Fun which is a grass green that has dark green striping. They feel like a frost in some cases but also a newer, buttery formula that feels soft and silky.
Likey!
I wasn’t too keen on the blushes since I was kinda disappointed that MAC didn’t embrace the plaid design for them but I will say that My Highland Honey proves gorgeous. It’s a bright coral that gives a fresh, healthy blast of color to cheeks. I applied it as soon as I tore open the box and I’m wearing it now. Such a gorgeous shade.
And finally I got one of the three pigments releasing which is The Family Crest, a blackened bronze with golden pearl shimmer.
A Tartan Tale’s Color Collection proves very promising if this brief look is anything to go by. I’m very eager to see the rest of it when it hits stores later this month.
What do you think you’ll haul from it?
