OMG! I NEED those brush sets, all of them!!!!
What an amazing value! I love MAC brushes.
I also have my eye on the Dashing Lassie and Noble Knights kits.

  • MC

    YES PLEASE!!!! LoL

I totally have my eye on Reelers & Rockers Eye Shadows. It’s been a while since I have been very excited for a MAC Holiday collection (last year was kind of ho hum). The last Holiday Collection I loved was Royal Assets. I love, LOVE the look of how A Tartan Tale will be!

  • Kelly

I’d love to get a pallet and one of the brush kits. I’ve never tried MAC but always oogle it. They just opened a MAC store at our mall so maybe this season I can stop in and get something. Any specific things you recommend the most? It might make picking out a kit easier! They’re all so tempting 😛

    • the Muse

hey kelly awesome ;-D MAC Newbie my fav hehe. the eye palettes are a great place to start particularly the warmer one which always proves very pretty each year ;D pigment and brush sets are also a very good value ;D!!!!!!!!

  • Hannah

I NEED the Vain and Glorious Lip Bag and She’s Got It All Apply, Define & Line Brush Collection.. i have some MAC stuff, but I really want to add to my collection.. the brushes are definetly a MUST(: so excited!!

  • auroragyps

6 Twists of Tartan palette has got my attention. I saw another blogger wearing Vainglorious on her eyes & loved it, but it’s sold out online. This would give me that shadow, and a couple of awesome greens, which I love.

I’ve never tried MAC’s shadows, so would this palette be a good thing for trying them out?

    • the Muse

I think so auro!!!!!!!! I love the palettes ;-D plus it’s more for less. ;-D

      • auroragyps

Sweet. I’ll really know if I’m going to get it once I see more pics online. Why they photographed the palettes from an angle that makes it so you can hardly see the colors, I have no idea. Silly MAC.

  • Cj

I never really got into Mac stuff other than their wipes (Which I am inlove with lol) but theDashing Lassie Eye Shadows,Happily Ever After Lip Kit, andHark the Heraldry Face Kit are looking really nice. Might just be my first real Mac makeup purchases 🙂

  • Yao

Muse, thank you so much for sharing these promo pics! I’ve been meaning to try MAC’s blushes for a while, so I think I’m going to get Hark the Heraldry Face Kit and one of the brushes kits. I’m just torn between Sweep & Define and Buff & Line. Which would you recommend?

  • Kristen

Ive never tried MAC brushes so I would love at least one of the brush sets.

  • Eileen

Really like the look of those brush sets …. think I’ll have to pick up atleast one to fill up that great big purse of mine!

  • Christine

I barely own any brushes (only 3 lol), those brush sets look amazing! I could double my brush collection in one go…hmmm XD

  • electronicfly

LOVE the bags!!!!! And the blush kit thingies! So beaut! Thogh I feel that if MAC brought in that tartan feel to the blushes as well (imagine mosiac-ey) it’ll be shoooooooooo good!

  • Andrea

I definitely have my eye on the brush set with the “skunk” brush! I’ve been using some awful brushes I got in a GWP, and I’ve been wanting to invest in some MAC brushes. Do you know how the quality compares in these sets to the regular ones?

    • the Muse

Andrea they aren’t nearly as good as the full size but I do think they aren’t bad either imho! ;-D For the price I def don’t think the quality is bad at all!

      • Andrea

Thanks for your opinion, Muse! I actually went to a MAC counter today and asked about the set, and the MA said the only differences are the short handles and the gold ferrules. I was tempted to pre-order but decided to wait until they are released so I can see a set in person first. I have to say, though… the purse/bag is putting up a pretty convincing argument!

  • Gia

Ehhhhhh! I just want the purses!! I mean the brushes are nice too but the purses they are in are so adorable! I hope they aren’t crazy small! My poor wallet! 🙁
But brushes aren’t a bad thing to buy lots of! You always need a lot of quality brushes! Right? I’m trying to make my crazy makeup talk logical… that’s a bad sign.

  • Agapi

I want everything!! Every item is sooooooooo adorable & I fell in love with it!!! Can’t wait to get my hands on them!

  • Mary

I wouldn’t suggest buying MAC’s brush set. They are bad! You may think you’re getting a deal but your not. Save your money and buy two regular size ones. The brush sets from them are poor quality. They say they use the same material as the full size ones, but its not. It’s poor quality. The handles aren’t wood and made in China not Japan and France like the regular size ones. Now I just buy the regular sized brushes from them. You want a cheaper brush set just go with Ecotools, Crown, Sigma. With MAC, you’re paying a lot for sub par products.

    • the Muse

      Hi mary.

Although the brushes in the mac sets aren’t nearly as good as the full side I def wouldn’t call them all bad. I’ve been very happy with the sets I’ve purchased and do believe they are a rather good deal!

      • Mary

With my experience, its bad. I thought that they would be just decent, but its not. The glue for two of them let go after one month and its not the way I dried or washed them. I really take care of all my brushes and I use the brush guard. I was so thrilled that the 219 came in the set too, but its not firm and cannot smoke out my bottom lashes. Its like a mini crease blending brush instead. I hate that! I already have the full size 217, 224, and 222. I wanted a pencil brush. Plus the 242 brush set one is not good too. the bristles are scratchy and doesn’t lie flat like the full size one and the other brush in the set is just okay. I know other people with similar experiences as well. They are not worth the price.

        • the Muse

sorry to hear it Mary 🙁 I’ve always had a great experience with the minis. I agree that they are def not nearly as good as the full size, that’s for sure, but I’ve never minded the mini size and even feel like some apply well since the shorter handle is more comfortable in my hand!

  • Mary

Thanks great Muse that you’ve had a good experience! I did want a shorter handle set and I luv MAC. But, I was so disappointed. I just bought them in the full size and very happy now. I just discovered your blog and really like it!

    • the Muse

hey mary! I can’t believe you had such woe with them, that sucks. 🙁 But I think you made a wise choice with the full size hun because def love mac full head brushes best ;-D I’ve never tried Stigma, was always curious about them with your rec might check them out!

aw thanks!!!!! ;-D xoxo! where’d ya find me?!

  • Nia

Well, well, well… last year was the first year I got a palette and I used it an awful lot, it has huge dents in three shadows. So I will get the Beauties Play It Cool Palette and the cool blush palette. I love them for travelling (which I do a lot at the moment) as they are compact and still can get me more than one look.

    What’s on your list?

Hope things are great with you 🙂 Have a great weekend

    • the Muse

so far nothing Nia aside from the color eyeshadow singles ;-D but once I see it all I know I’ll prob want it, it’s a disease.

I’m good, tired but good. How are you? You have a fab weekend too dear thanks for brightening up my blog life ;D

  • LorraineER

Hey Muse! I am so psyched for this collection, it’s got me more amped up than VV had me. I think you made a mistake in your post though with the brush sets. Under where you typed the “MAC A Tartan Tale Brush Bags A Lady & Her Tricks Buff & Line Brush Collection $49.50”
You have the pic for the Apply Define and Line set. Vice Versa under the heading for the Apply Line & Define set you have the pic for the Buff & Brush set- I think. Because the first brush in the second pic is the 187 and below that is the 168. Anyhoo thank you for the pics!!! It’s like Mac Porn to me…

    • the Muse

eeep thanks lorraine have to fix ;-D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxo!
