Clarins Barocco Face Palette Review, Swatches, Photos

Ahhh phew. After discussing E.L.F. Cosmetics we definitely need to liven this place up with some posh, luxe, gorgeous makeup and Clarins Barocco Face Palette fits the bill.

Jump!

A soft and lightweight pressed powder, presented in an stunning case!

Ahhh this is stunning and worthy of its $55 price tag which I dub a complete steal for such a well made palette. The compact is heavy and has a substantial weight behind it as in you can slug someone over the head with this and do some damage! It’s really an elegant, weighty compact that you won’t be shy about pulling out of your purse for touch ups! It features a gold plated design with a black lacquered logoed bottom and a glossy decorative black scroll, very, very gorgeous.

Inside you’ll find a full size mirror and a beige and pinky peach powder. The base powder is a softer beige peach which should flatter most skin tones and the swirled design is a pinky peach, combined you’ll simply end up with a translucent face powder that has a very subtle golden sparkle. This won’t act as a foundation but it will delicately even out your skin tone, act as a pressed powder for touch ups, or erase shine for quickie touch ups on the go while creating a more flawless finish to your face with a very, very subtle touch of golden peach.

The powder formula is silky, smooth, and blends easily and flawlessly with a weightless feel and finish, no one can tell you’re wearing this since the powder is so finely milled.

I have quite a few Clarins Face Powders and one thing that bugs me about them is the lack of a brush or puff included. I’d love for this to come with a puff of some sort tucked into the bottom rather than having to use one of my own puffs or brushes.

It is a heavier piece of makeup and is suited for collector’s and not necessarily for carrying around daily. Special occasion would work best for toting this around in my opinion.

  • Anyone who adores gorgeous makeup (this is gorgeous makeup at its very best).
  • Anyone wanting a conversation piece for touch ups (you’re bound to get a few comments and compliments when you touch up in the washroom).

  • Anyone who isn’t interested in spending alot on a setting powder (this does range in the upper $50’s so if you’re on a budget that could prove a bit too much to splurge).
  • Anyone who wants an easy to tote around transparent powder (this has substantial weight behind in so it’s best suited for tucking into smaller beauty clutches during parties or special events).

I think this is a stunning piece. Most all Clarins Limited Edition items turn into something special and the Barocco Face Palette is no different. If you’re a collector or you simply love beautiful makeup, you’ll easily want to add this to your beauty vault. A beautiful and practical piece of makeup for special occasions!

Stunning and very Muse Approved for purchase!

Oh so beautiful! I love packaging that is classy and pretty and not over the top. The gold looks much less cheap and yellow than most packaging.

Clarins reminds me of a more mature audience. Although I have to remind myself that at 35 I may be in that audience now. I think of my grandmother when I think of Clarins. Warm memories though.
