Hard Candy Big Curls Don’t Cry Review, Photos

Big girls don’t cry…they don’t cry-ya-ya….they don’t cry. Isn’t that cry-ya-ya the perfect high note for the shower? Not that I sing in the shower. No way, not me.

I do full Broadway style shows in my shower, yeah, well, you’re never seeing that. Admission 1 only.

Speaking of big girls that don’t cry, that happens to be the name of the new Hard Candy Mascara, well, not really, replace girls with curls.

Check it chicks!

A waterproof and tear-proof mascara!

This is Hard Candy’s newest mascara with a waterproof design. I normally favor Waterproof Mascara so this is a great one for me. No fanfare here, just a traditional extra bushy brush applicator. Part of the appeal is definitely the $6 price tag and the Hard Candy name and logo.

It’s not the best drugstore mascara by any means but it will gather interest because it’s by Hard Candy which has rightfully developed cult status since making its move to Walmart and lowering it’s prices tags to the budget realm.

It does the job of lengthening and creating a nice full fringe of lashes and indeed remains wearing long throughout the day within running, rubbing off, or creating raccoon eyes. It’s raining today and I jogged two blocks without an umbrella and it held up well. I’m not sure I’d say it creates OMG awesome lashes but it does the job well enough! It holds curl well and has a nicely pigmented formula. Formula isn’t heavy thankfully so it does keep curl in place and doesn’t make lashes feel stiff or crunchy-like.

I like the cardboard tube packaging however it’s a bit flimsy and mine broke after one use. Well, not broke, but the mascara tube now slips free of the cardboard tube it comes housed in when I twist to open, grrrr!

  • Beauty budget types!
  • Those who enjoy traditional mascara applicators (this has a fat bushy brush).
  • Anyone seeking an inexpensive yet hip waterproof mascara (yes, I said hip, because hey, Hard Candy has that hip, cuter feel doesn’t it?)

  • Anyone wanting crazy long lashes (this does a good job but nothing crazy or dramatic).

It isn’t the best mascara I’ve tried in the budget makeup realms by any means but it is a good purchase and value. At $6 you’re not only getting decent mascara but also very fun packaging and sometimes, packaging definitely rules supreme doesn’t it? Although I am still ranty my tubing broke! Grrr!

Anyone try it?
