A Very Young Muse

My Aunt sent this to me this afternoon and I’m ballsy enough to post it, in all its mullet glory (yes, seems I had a mullet when I was younger, ha!).

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

  • Anitacska

Aaaw cute! Didn’t we all have mullets in the 80’s / early 90’s? 🙂 My hair was awful until I was about 14 and decided to grow it out properly!

    • the Muse

thank god anita I thought I was alone LOL! I started growing mine out around that time too….!

  • Annabella Freeman

I think you’ll find if you grew up in the late 70’s and early 80’s in the US we all had mullets of some description. My junior high photos are littered with feathered hair too!

    How Cute Muse!!!
Yeah my mom thought it was a good idea to give me a haircut like that when I was a kid too. Only I’m a bit older than you, so back then it was called a “shag” – ha! – not a mullet.

    • the Muse

ha JC! our mum’s obviously wanted to torture us for no good reasons girl!

  • Mary the Muse Militant

Wow, as cute as a button !!
You were the height of fashion back then (circa 1984?) and still are of course 🙂
    Great photo.

Aw baby muse!! My baby pictures are locked away in a dark place…with all my other piccies. Make up ~ and plenty of it ~ is the definite way to go!!!

I think parents should be banned from choosing their kid’s haircuts. My mom had the dream of being a hairdresser (though she never went to beauty school) and she used my as her guinea pig. I had the mullet, the dorothy hamil wedge, the white girl afro (my hair was shaved halfway up the back of my head and the entire top was a giant ball of teased curls), bad perms, the bowl cut, the bride of frankenstein, etc. I did not have a decent hairdo until college! Attention mothers of the world: If you are not a licensed hair stylist, leave your poor kids alone!

hells yes courtney! LOL! ha the DH wedge cut omg my best friend had that in 1st grade ;-D LMAO!
