100% Pure Cosmetics Cruelty Free Makeup Pink Box Collection Review, Photos, Swatches

About a year ago 100% Pure had a Today’s Special Value on QVC featuring a box set of their cosmetics. I stupidly indulged in the one time shipment and proceeded to love the set! I really should have gotten the auto delivery which offered a new selection of products over the course of a few months.

I believe that 100% Pure has since brought those box sets out in the form of the Pink Box Set and the Strawberry Box Set which I told you about during Christmas.

I ended up indulging in the 100% Pure Cosmetics Cruelty Free Makeup Pink Box Collection recently (now I really want the Strawberry one too!) and I thought I’d take some time out to share my thoughts on it!

A set featuring eight full size products from 100% Pure which is a line of cosmetics colored from antioxidant rich fruit and vegetable pigments.

This set comes housed in a sweet flip top box and includes six full size products plus two full size brushes.

You get:

  • 100% Pure Ultra-lengthening Mascara in Black Tea
  • 100% Pure Velveteen Lip Glaze
  • 100% Pure Eye Shadows in Sateen
  • 100% Pure Eye Shadows Cashmere
  • 100% Pure Blush in Chiffon
  • 100% Pure Dual-Ended Creamy Eyeliner Pencil in Cotton/Silk
  • 100% Pure Cruelty-Free Vegan Blush Brush
  • 100% Pure Cruelty-Free Vegan Eye Shadow Brush

The main appeal of the cosmetics is the the fact that they are cruelty free and have such a good for you formula.

I find “green” friendly makeup does sometimes forsake quality for such a formula however 100% Pure Cosmetics in my experience not only have a good for you formula but also have incredible quality and pigmentation to back them up.

The shadows included both sport a semi-matte formula however they apply easily and blend out nicely plus they have a very nice pop of color. The shades are Cashmere (mauve-ish cranberry) and Sateen (taupe). The shades are a bit mature and I didn’t really love them to be honest. I used Sateen on my lid and blended Cashmere into my crease but the overall look is a bit too aging on my eyes. These were my least favorite items in the set.

The Dual-Ended Creamy Eyeliner Pencil in Cotton and Silk was quite nice. I didn’t like the creamy eyeliner that was included with the prior kit I purchased however these shades seem to be a bit more user friendly. I used the lighter of the two as a base for the shadows and it matched up well. Cotton is a golden beige and Silk is bronze-y dirty rose. These have a nice color pay off but nothing too intense. The formula is creamy and creates a nice base for shadows or can easily be worn on their own for a bit of a natural lid look.

I absolutely adore the packaging of 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Blush. It comes housed in a pink tin decorated with a floral motif. It’s so pretty and girlish! Quite lovely. The shade I wasn’t keen on but after trying it out I was surprised at how lovely it was. This is a pale peachy shade of pink that’s applies very subtly and naturally on my cheeks. One thing I hate about their blushes is they do kick up a fair bit of powder when you dip a brush in. The blush seems loosely packed thus causing the kick up however it’s not too big a deal I just worry about wasting too much product.

100% Pure Velveteen Lip Glaze is a balm-y lipstick with good color payoff. The shade is a warm rose which goes beautifully with all the shades included in the kit.

The mascara applies quite well too. The color is a very richly pigmented black that extends lashes nicely creating a good full look.

And finally the brushes are quite soft and apply product nice. They might be a bit too soft, they kind of feel like spun out cotton. Interesting but I probably couldn’t give up my MAC brushes for them!

All the packaging on the products (aside from the shadow and cream shadow) is gorgeous. Silver tubes with a floral vine motif decorate each piece so it makes for a very pretty makeup experience.

Sadly, I didn’t like the overall look. I blame the two powder eyeshadows for this as they simply weren’t the most flattering shades I’ve come across. Other items in the collection do make the completed purchase worth it for me. For others, if you like more mature makeup you might find the joy here.

  • Those seeking green friendly makeup with a good for you formula!
  • Those wanting a complete look that’s easy to create (this is simple makeup that beginners can easily use).
  • Those wanting to try out something a little different (tired of the regular line up of product? 100% Pure has some very interesting makeup to try out and this kit is a good way to discover it).

  • Those who like more “fun” makeup looks (the shadows are a tad on the boring side and bring the set into an older lady makeup zone).
  • Those who aren’t keen on spending over $60.
  • Those with olive or darker skin tones (the blush may not work on a deeper skin tone).

Overall, the set is a nice value at $65 as you’re looking at all full size products. I liked the set overall but I suggest checking out the Blue Box as that I really loved. The shadows prevent me from Muse Approving this one as I really felt they brought the completed look a bit down. The products are all superb from packaging to formula to price but I’d have loved if they had thought out the shadows a bit more, as those really deducted points in the end for me.

Like yes but not love.

Check out the Blue Box Collection if you like really nice shades of browns and cream! I loved that set.

The little pink tin is so flippin cute! I like that they are vegan and cruelty free, but I’m not interested as a whole – but the Lip Glaze is right up my alley!

How pigmented is the lipglaze? I love natural products but the lipsticks are never highly pigmented enough for me I use MAC Ruby Woo as my standard for a highly pigmented lipstick 🙂
