Bare Escentuals Deep Cleansing Foam Review

Bare Escentials Deep Cleansing Foam is one of several new skincare products that Bare Escentuals launched recently. They also have a brand new eye cream, moisturizer, and other skincare goodies that contain 100% Pure RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex which represents a new generation of active minerals with extraordinary skin-renewing benefits including cell turnover and antioxidant protection.

Let’s take a look!

A foaming cleanser that removes makeup, dissolves impurities, and rebalances skin for a soft, smooth complexion.

I think part of the main appeal here will be the no nonsense formula . This is free of parabens, contains no fragrances or artificial oils and just does what it says it will in the terms of removing makeup and getting skin squeaky clean. I can’t speak for long term results and whether my skin will look any better in the months to come but I will say this is a great face wash as it doesn’t strip or dry my skin out.

We don’t have a ton of foaming facial cleansers to choose from. Most come in liquids or gels but not alot of foaming washes. If you’re familiar with Asian collagen washes this pretty much mimics that formula without as much slip or glide. The formula starts out as a thicker cream and works itself into a nice, rich lather when water is applied. I really enjoy pairing this up with my Clarisonic and using it in the AM. It gets my skin super clean and my skin looks a bit brighter with some easing of dullness. The formula rinses clean away and never leaves my skin tight or dry feeling. It’s pretty much suited for most all skin tones and can easily act as a gentle cleanser to remove makeup and dirt without the drama many cleansers come with, you know, too tight skin, a greasy feel, etc…

I like the no nonsense feel of the product and felt at $20 for a 4.2 oz size you’re also getting a rather good deal since a little goes a very long way!

Nothing bad here!

  • Those wanting a richly lathering face wash to remove dirt and makeup without drying skin out or stripping it.
  • Those with oily skin, dry skin, comb, or normal skin (any type can use this).
  • Those wanting more for less (the 4.2 oz size is quite generous for $20 and it’ll last a very long time since a small amount goes a very long way).
  • Those who like the basics that just work (no bells here, no whistles, just a facial foam that works and does the job).

  • Nothing to not like here!

Overall, Bare Escentuals Deep Cleansing Foam is turning into a great little cleanser and works a treat with my Clarisonic. It produces a mound of rich lather and gets my face squeaky clean. I can hope that it’s renewing skin cells and making my skin looks its very best but I’ll have to take note in the long run to see what sort of results come from extended use. For now I’ll rave about the fact that it doesn’t make me feel tight and does a wonderful job of removing makeup and dirt.

Well worth a purchase.

Quite Muse Approved particularly if you’re sensitive as this is quite gentle!

I love this too! I don’t use it every day, just when I feel like my face needs a deep cleaning. My skin is typically really dry, but this doesn’t dry me out at all and my face actually feels smoother after use!

    • the Muse

same here carrie, surprised that it didn’t dry me out ;D was pleased with that!

  • Aimee

Sounds good! I may pick this up to use with my Clarisonic when I run out of Philosophy Purity, which is also kind of a nice simple thing.

    • the Muse

aimee used to be a BIG purity fan myself ;-D but it was sadly drying me out :-/ had to find something else!

  • Soo

thanks for your review! I got a sample size of this and now i’m super excited to try it!!

I’ve used it for the past three days and I like how it lathers (really makes me want a Clarisonic too, haha..) I like the overall smell of the little sample pack with the lotion & eye cream, it’s a nice clean smell that isn’t too overpowering.

great review Muse! I’m really digging the packaging on the BE skin care line. This might be a really great alternative for when I have those combination skin days!

What kinds of cleansers are best to use with the Clarisonic btw?

    • the Muse

anything really works with the Clarisonic Cara 🙂 Foaming washes are particularly nice in my experience :D!

  • neutralgirl

I have this and love it. I also have the face lotion and my skin slightly reacted(which it hardly does) cuz i was using a new product but i hung in there and have been using it everyday for almost a month and I love it.

    • the Muse

neturalgirl haven’t tried the moisturizer but been curious ’bout it ;D!

  • JenJ

It’s on de list. I’ve been using the other cleaner that was brought to the Q first a while ago and i love it. Can’t wait to try this one.

  • mar

do you know if it has sulfates? i have eczema so I’m supposed to avoid stuff that can dry out my skin

  • Jaz

Does it have fragrance in it? Because unfortunately I can’t use any skincare products with fragrance in it 🙁

the other day at work (ulta) we had a brand rep come in and demonstrate the line for us. Of course she would choose me.. the girl that blush if someone looks at her. So, infront of the group of 12 or so she did a full face demo. She started my taking my make up off.. I was so nervous. She didn’t use this product but the lotiony soap instead. (I don’t normally use soap on my face because it tends to send my sometimes sensitve skin into a frenzy of sadness and if I do, its cetaphil) But this product and the rest of the be skin care line is amazing! I am a Benebabe and I feel like I’m betraying the brand but I really liked this line. I’ll probably stick with Cetaphil for now, cause they are so similar but be’s skin care line is awesome and less expensive than most other prestige brand skin care.. and the ingredience list is amazing!
