MAC Primed for Perfection

MAC Primed for Perfection launches shortly and let me tell you, I’ve tried the Prep + Prime Highlighters briefly and they are amazing so all my concealer junkies gather around and get excited!

I’ll have a review of them sometime tomorrow but here’s the details for the collection!

MAC owns the primers category. Now were taking Prep + Prime further than ever. Use it under, over, during and after makeup application, and marvel at the ease with which it can accept concealer and cooperate with colour. And now, with Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye, P + P advances eyes and focuses potential. A lightweight, quick fix and long-term solution for puffy, tired-looking creases and bags that targets the three main causes for dark under eye circles – pigmentation, visibly weakened capillaries and shadowing – while illuminating the eye area with optical effects for instant luminosity. Vibrancy Eye provides pick-me-up power and moisturization. One step and youre prepped for makeup magic. A wonderful new shaded highlighter debuts with this collection – Prep + Prime Highlighter is lush and cushiony, yet lightweight – in wonderful hues that provide a sheer wash of colour to highlight, brighten and perfect. The click “pen” allows for exact application.

  • Bright Forecast Mid-tone peachy coral
  • Radiant Rose Light shell pink

I must be living under a rock lately because I didn’t realize that the new eye treatment was primer! I think I’m in love! So far I dabbled around with the Light Boost and it conceals and brightens like nobody’s business.

I wasn’t paying attention at all to this collection and it might have been a small blip on my beauty radar but as of now I’m all in it and enjoying what I’ve seen so far.

Here’s a brief, informative Q&A about MAC Primed for Perfection which got me all excited!

What is the strategy behind launching Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye and Prep + Prime Highlighter? What void do they fill in MACs primer category?

We launched Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye and Prep + Prime Highlighter to add diversity to our Prep + Prime Eye formulas. We have our original Prep + Prime Eye formula which evens out the skintone and texture on the eyelid, but we felt that we needed a primer to perfect the skin for concealer application. This formula was created to be used specifically for the delicate eye area. The Prep + Prime Highlighter allows for precise application and more targeted luminosity to add light and radiance to the eye or any area of the face in one easy step. The difference between Prep + Prime Highlighter and Prep + Prime Skin is that this new formula provides a more targeted luminosity and it can be used under and over foundation for touch-ups.

How does Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye work? What are its main ingredients?

Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye immediately improves radiance and clarity around the eye area with the following main ingredients: Vitamin C Complex with Melannite (K3 aminopropyl ascorbyl phosphate and 2CME ascorbyl tocopheryl maleate) serves as a brightening agent and antioxidant. The anti-angiogenics phytosphingosine, glycosaminoglycans and gingko biloba help strengthen skin. For optics, a cocktail of light reflective pearls in multiple colours renders the maximum skin-enhancing effect. A range of peptides – sweet orange extract, red algae extract, caffeine and sucrose – soothes and depuffs the eye area, while glycerin, trehalose, sodium hyaluronate and shea butter add up to a powerful combination of moisturizers and emollients. Over time, this combination of ingredients can brighten the appearance of dark circles, reduce puffiness and add moisture around the delicate eye area.

How should Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye be applied? Should it be worn above or below foundation/concealer?

Prep + Prime Vibrancy Eye should be applied gently with your fingertip, patted gently around eye area until blended. It should be worn under concealer.

What are the benefits of the click pen applicator on Prep + Prime Highlighter? Where and how should it be applied?

The Prep + Prime Highlighter click pen allows for precise, easy application and provides just the right amount of product. Prep + Prime Highlighter should be applied with the brush tip directly to the high place of the face to help brighten. Additionally, it can applied over bare moisturized skin, or over concealer/foundation. Blend well with fingertips.

Exciting right?

I’m a concealer junkie so I’m on this baby!

So looking forward to a concealer primer. Let’s hope it’s not drying and it does not cake, sounds nearly too good to be true 🙂

    Have a great weekend Muse!

  • Mary

o0o0o0o- looking forward to this one! I love anything that’ll perfect the skin. Yesss..

  • Cj

Can’t wait for Vibrancy eye! Might get Light boost too if the color works for me ;D

  • Mary the Muse Militant

    This sounds great.
I’d love to try the Radiant Rose.
The YSL Touche Eclat gave me a rash and the fumes stung my eyes so hope this Mac one might not.
Not sure about the Vibrancy eye primer as I don’t need anything that lightens or brightens up under my eye area as I’m really pale under the eye and sometimes I put a tinted moisturiser to darken it a bit.
But, I’ll definitely have a test of it and if it isn’t a lightening product then it might be just the thing for helping veil fine lines !
    Roll on April !

    • the Muse

ugh mary sorry to hear about YSL. I like Dior’s booster pen, way nicer, more coverage.

  • Mary the Muse Militant

Sorry to be commenting again but have to ask if you like the Vibrancy Eye primer?
I’ve ordered it and a highligher pen.
I can’t wear concealer as it give me lines. Well, I mean it makes my lines linier ! HeHe. Not funny really !

    • the Muse

hey mary sorry delayed reply been using it on and off but not quite ready to review it ;-D seems ok but not wowing me yet…you?

  • Mary the Muse Militant

I agree Muse. The Vibrancy Eye is ok but nothing wonderful.
I do like the Highlighter pen (Radiant Rose). It has goodish coverage for a highlighter but I don’t need any concealing really as I’m white as hell under the eyes.
On me it’s good for adding a fresh clean brightness to that area and as it’s not a heavy concealer, it’s perfect for me.
Sleek have new pen highlighters out and almost the same. Their lightest colour is pink toned and exactly the same colour as MAC’s Radiant Rose.
Sleek’s one is not as creamy and is a drier formula but has good coverage.
I mix the Sleek one with a bit of Vibrancy Eye to make it less drying.
I also got the long gone Paraguaya palette and the matching peach/orange blush from that colelction.
It was hidden away in the drawers underneath the display stand. I always look in those private drawers for older items. HeHe.
We can get 25% off Sleek as we can go online to get a code to write on the back of any till receipt. And, you can do it over an over.
The deal is 25% off Superdrug own brand and 10% off branded products.
The Superdrug guy on the till said Sleek was their own brand so I got 25% off.
So any UK girls and guys you can get 25% off Sleek ! What a bargain.
Am I talking too much ? sorry.
