Please do not repost images on other sites. Thank you!

Tarte was kind enough to send over additional swatches of their new Tarte 8th World of Wonder Best of the Amazon 7 Piece Clay Collection. The collection has quite a buzz at the moment as it’s extremely inexpensive and has some really great products included (all full size).

I know many QVC readers already got their kits as they pre-ordered it thanks to a post I did a week or two ago. If you haven’t gotten your mitts on it yet no worries you still have plenty of time as I believe it premieres officially on March 14th (Maureen will be probably be presenting the Today’s Special Value on QVC).

Just a recap of what you get:

  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Balancing Foundation SPF 15 (Your Choice of Fair, Light, Medium, Tan or Deep)

There are two options available for the set.

You can go with an auto ship which gets you this set and two more seasonal sets sent to you in the next few months (June and October) with different shades of all of the products listed above which is item number A216307.

Or you can get a one time ship of just the items above using item number A212775.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. Hi Muse! According to UPS my order should arrive by the end of today! So excited! BUT looking at the above swatches I think I might have ordered the wrong foundation color! The Fair swatch here looks MUCH fairer than the original ones that Tarte sent you…oh welll..I’ll just exchange it if the color doesn’t match. Have you gotten yours yet?

    • the Muse

Hi June! Yay! I haven’t gotten mine yet! Glad yours is on the way ;-D You can easily exchange, QVC is awesome with returns and such. It’s the lighting probably. Swatches are SO hard to capture on camera, I should know as I FAIL at it all the time ;-D

I hope it matches for you June! keeping my fingers crossed, update me today when it arrives??

  • Jenn

Yeah I got mine last night and he fair is a lot fairer than I thought it would be. It is such a great deal I am thinking about just ordering the set again in light and using the fair to mix in during winter.

  • Larie

This looks so good! But now I am confused about foundation shades. I wonder what I should get? I hate returning things…I never do. They just sit in my makeup train case. And then I’m sad, haha.

    • the Muse

hi larie sorry :-/ I haven’t actually seen the foundation shades myself so it’s hard to recommend shades online :-/

      • Jenn

I can say that the fair is VERY fair, pinkish fair. I am very light skinned and it was way too light for me. At first I thought maybe I put it on with a heavy hand, so I took it all off and put it on lightly, but still too fair. It is a great foundation with good full coverage. It feels nice on the skin too.

        • the Muse

I’m eager to try it jenn I heard it has a creamy texture ;-D nice for my dry skin!

  • Jenn

Oh you know what the best thing was? It included a generous sample glass bottle of the new oil that Tarte is selling. The cold pressed oil…I cannot remember the exact name right now. The bottle even has a dropper, and I am really loving it.

  • Carolyn

Got it and love it. Got the light…switched to med for summer. This is the best kit I ever received, the brush is to die for, and worth $50 alone

    • the Muse

      Hi Carolyn

I think you reposted the images on the qvc site. Can you please remove? This is hotlinking to the photos and it causes issues with my personal server on musings 🙁 The forums have alot of incoming and outgoing traffic and this brings down my entire site.

Not sure, but I believe it was you that had hotlinked the image. I’d appreciate it if you could maybe edit your post and just link directly to the post or photos to avoid my MusingsofaMuse crashing 🙁

      • Carolyn

It was not me…I do not know what hotlinking is. I just copy and pasted, but I will remove the photos. Sorry if that caused you a problem.

        • the Muse

that’s ok carolyn! qvc gets ALOT of traffic so if you take an image from my site which is still “served” on my server it causes issues with my website. This is called hotlinking. It basically means ALOT of people are accessing the same file and that results in either crashing my site or slowing it down. Sorry! I thought it was you b/c you had the same nick “carolyn” 🙂

      • Carolyn

I have removed the photos. Again I am so sorry to have caused you any problems. I was not aware of protocall or that I could cause any problems. Please accept my apology

  • Andrea

I got mine already, and I posted my initial review on the QVC beauty forum. I LOVE THIS KIT!! I was worried from the original swatches that fair would be too dark, but it’s actually very light – the swatch from this post is more accurate. Luckily, it’s just my shade! After getting and raving over this first installment, I can’t wait to get the other shipments. I’m anxiously awaiting the on-air presentations as well, since I’m sure they’ll have a lot of people calling in about this kit. It’s the must-have kit of the year!

    • the Muse

Andrea I’m excited to see the presentation too as I want application tips ;-D so excited about your initial thoughts on this and excitement ;D! Can’t wait to try!

  • winni

At qvc it says my estimated delivery date isn’t until 3/24. *le sigh
    I want NOW!

    • the Muse

winni I doubt that is right it’ll probably arrive faster ;-D as some folks already got the kit!

      • winni

I hope you’re right. Every time I see these blushes in sephora I *die* and keep telling myself that I HAVE to wait for this shipment….and the idea of a sample of the maracuja oil has me swooning big time!

        • the Muse

Ugh they look so gorg in their display at sephora, wants every one lmao! ;-D

  • June

Hi again Muse and everyone else!

I just got my Tarte set! so…for those who are wondering about the foundation shades – alas! the swatches that Tarte sent out are misleading.. Fair is VERY FAIR – as Muse as kindly updated, it’s a Nicole Kidman kinda fair…maybe an NW15? or even lighter? I’m not sure if it oxidizes…

I’m NC25 and on me it looks like pinkish-white toothpaste or smthing..that said, the foundation feels pretty smooth and creamy…the finish is soft. Overall, it feels and looks like a light coverage foundation – but i may be wrong since i don’t have a matching shade.

I’m going to have to exchange it for the Light foundation set – I think that should work better for my skintone.

I can confirm a few things
    1. the blush is fabulous – smwhat of a NARS orgasm dupe on my skin, but smoother in texture

    2. I also got a sample of the new treatment oil (I think everyone gets one with this set?)

    3. The eyeshadows and eyeliner are soft, smooth and pigmented

    hope this helps!

    • the Muse

BIG help thanks June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-D! you’re awesome!

  • Deb

Hey Muse. Don’t know if this is of any interest to you but I noticed you review quite a few Tarte products. Recently Tarte came out with the Amazonian Smooth Operator Clay powder. They claim that the product reduces pore size and number of pores by 20% in 4 weeks. Not the appearance of size and number but the actual size and number. Important distinction. I e-mailed the Tarte marketing department and asked for an explanation since this claim is not supported by medical science. I then did an extensive internet search for any credible data to support their claim and nothing turned up. I then asked my dermatologist and a plastic surgeon and both said it is a blatantly false claim. Nothing can change the actual number and size of pores, only the appearance. Tarte has not responded to me over 3 weeks later so I called them. They advised me they could not and would not answer my question. Their website said this claim is backed up by clinical evidence but I can’t find it and they don’t make it available. This doesn’t seem very reputable to me. Just saying.

    • the Muse

Hi Deb. I’m honestly not sure as I haven’t personally tried the product myself. I see alot of products that promise to reduce pore size but I couldn’t say if any actual work as my pores are non existent due to my drier skin. I’m sorry to hear that Tarte had no reply for you. Have you tried facebookin’ or tweeting them? Maybe you’ll get a better reply as sometimes company employees on the mail order team aren’t really versed in all the products perhaps they can direct you to further information. I can’t really say as I haven’t checked out the powder myself or read up on it aside from the small blurb on Sephora.com. But like I said so many brands promise to reduce pore size, not only Tarte that would mean we are looking at a long list of companies that aren’t reputable in their claims ;-D If I get any further info on the product I’ll let you know. Honestly, this doesn’t really stop me posting, blogging, and reviewing on Tarte as I generally like their color cosmetics and I take most products by whatever brand with a grain of salt as I’ve tried plenty and many that promise me miracles and in sometimes they just don’t work sadly ;-( but as a beauty junkie it doesn’t stop me from trying them anyway 🙂

    • winni

Have you guys seen the “what if beauty ads told the truth” video on YouTube? I highly recommend, it’s hilarious! 🙂

  • Claire

Odd question but I can’t work out how you have managed to take that photo, so how did you do it? xxx

    • the Muse

hi claire I explained where I got the photo in the post, did you miss it? Hope this helps!

  • Makedonka

Hey Muse – I got the Light shade as per your advice from your original post and it is right on! The 5 ml sample of the Maracuja Oil was very pleasant surprise – I am certain you are going to enjoy it based on your comments about having dry skin. I am using it for under my eyes only – wonderful product!
Thanks again for your original post and for all the shade charts/comparison posts as well – you are da bomb! 🙂

    • Makedonka

ETA – just saw your post about the Passion Fruit oil … duh, should have know your already tried it. LOL

    • the Muse

yay makedonka ;-D good on you girl! So far my tests with the oil are going well ;-D good idea for under eye use!!!!!!! aw jeepers thanks hun! HUGS!

  • Lisa

I got my kit and love everything! I am medium, and although it’s a little yellow based and I’m cool, it seems to work. Can’t even tell you are wearing foundation …it’s so lightweight! The blush is super fantastic and the oil actually works great on the neck area too. This is a must have!!!!

    • the Muse

Lisa got mine finally! Foundation is AMAZING! Agreed very lightweight!

  • Isabella Casser

can you tell where the eye shadows are made? and the blush

    thanks

    • the Muse

I believe the shadows are china but don’t quote me there Isabella I don’t have the quad in my hand, not sure on the blush!

  • Ana

Hi muse — hope you see this! What shade would be best for nc25 skin? I’m thinking light but I read a review by someone who was nc25 using medium. Hmmm.

  • Jennifer H

    Hi,
I know this is an old post, but I was researching dupes for 2 of the shades in this set. My mom purchased this kit and used up the Shimmering Cocoa and Shimmering Bronze so I wanted to get them for her, but this kit is not available anywhere. So, do you have any recommendations for dupes of these shadows? Thanks so much!!
