DuWop Isla Sirena Collection Where Are You?
On Stranger Tides flies into theaters this weekend much to my delight. I’m quite eager to see what adventures Captain Jack gets into this time! Well, I’m actually eager to see what the other Captain Jack gets into as well this Summer but I’ll settle for the Johnny Depp version first.
As you know from a very early post I did, DuWop has some sort of collaborated effort that was tied in with the film’s release. Sadly, Sephora discontinued carrying a majority of the DuWop catalog outside of Lip Venom…can you say WTH? Why? I’m still puzzling over that. DuWop has made some crummy business decisions in the past (Hellllllllo Twilight Beauty!) but actually yanking the line from Sephora, well, I’m hoping it wasn’t by choice.
This year we failed to see a Spring Collection from the brand which I hope means that they are gearing up for the big release of the Isla Sirena Collection but I am worried.
Moral support please?
With Pirates releasing on May 20th…what are they waiting for to get this collection onto to the table? Might they actually launch it Friday? It would be pointless and a bad marketing choice to launch AFTER the movie release dontcha think?
It seems one UK beauty site has been saying they’ll be stocking it since April but they still having a “Coming Soon” banner posted…however, the good news is you can actually add items to your cart so perhaps they are indeed sure of its arrival.

Simple Beauty, a UK shop, has the entire collection available however as mentioned above it does show as Coming Soon but they still allow you to pre-order it. Believe me, I was tempted but not so tempted I won’t wait for our release because the sterling versus USD price jack is not appealing in the least plus I’m unsure at this point if Simple Beauty ships to the US anyway.

DuWop Isla Sirena Collection Caribbean Iced Teas �15.00
Iced Teas are a refreshing lip treatment with exotic flavor, the slightest hint of color, and a delicious scent and flavor. Each Iced Tea also packs sun protection at 15 SPF. They are an indulgent treat without being too naughty!
The hydrating properties of this product come from a combination of soothing ingredients such as jojoba oil, aloe, and green tea extract that will leave lips feeling refreshed and moisturized.
Shades
- Mint Mojito (refreshing and light, translucent teal)
- Pink Grape Fruit (sweet and bright, hint of citrus pink)
- Butter Rum (rich and smooth, translucent amber with gold sparkle)
Going over the price line you can see that the Iced Teas are �15 versus our price tag of $19 so you’re looking at a jump of $5 or so. I imagine the palette price will be considerably cheaper as well if and when the collection releases here…If worst comes to worst I’ll consider ordering from the UK if we fail to see the collection in the US but let’s hope we don’t run into that issue.
Overall, the collection is fun. It does look like some of the shades particularly the lip products seem to be dupes for some shades that were released in the Twilight Beauty range…dontcha get the vibe a little or is it me?
I guess it’s basically the Pirate theme that’s the main attraction and novelty here.
UK’ers can go ahead and start pre-booking the collection from www.simplebeauty.co.uk already. The rest of us have to hope that when Friday comes around that Isla Sirena will coincide with the movie’s release.
