NARS Fall Collection 2011

Don’t kill me, but I haven’t been excited about a NARS Collection in a long, long time. Nothing has really jumped out at me from the brand in a few seasons now and I’m beginning to panic…have I lost my NARS groove?

I should be thanking the makeup Gods right? Money saved?

I want NARS to surprise me with some incredibly brilliant blush a la O or Super O but only better….

It can happen right?

How about NARS Fall 2011?

Maybe that will whet my appetite?

Check it!

For Fall 2011 NARS went with softer, subtler tones and combined it with bright pops of color like a true blue shade of shadow. The effect is an edgy, feminine look.

NARS Outremer Single Eyeshadow ($23)
French for “overseas,” the richly pigmented single eyeshadow”a bold blue hue”allows for a range of stunning eye effects, from soft and sheer to intense and fashion-forward.

NARS Grand Palais Duo Eyeshadow ($33) (Limited Edition)
Named for the Parisian exhibition hall and museum complex near the Champs Elysées, this silvery taupe and dusty rose duo eyeshadow is a universally flattering, neutral palette. Wear each shade solo or layered for myriad soft effects.

NARS Delphes Trio Eyeshadow ($45) (Limited Edition)
The rich history of Delphi, Greece, the place of worship of the god Apollo, inspired this trio eyeshadow, which combines a sparkling sheer peach with a matte dove gray and a frosted sage. Wear each shade alone or experiment with combinations of two and three shades for a truly devotional look.

NARS Oasis Lip Gloss ($24) (Limited Edition)
The perfect complement to a bold eye, this sparkling pink-champagne lip gloss works equally well alone or layered over lip color for a more nuanced look with pumped-up shine.

NARS Train Bleu Velvet Matte Lip Pencil ($24)
This deep aubergine velvet matte lip pencil is as opulent as the infamous French night express train for which its named.

NARS Pago Pago Lipstick ($24)
Named for the capital city of American Samoa in the South Pacific, this petal pink shimmering sheer lipstick delivers gentle color reminiscent of the islands.

NARS Montego Bay Pure Matte Lipstick ($25)
Laced with moisturizing wild mango butter, this versatile rose-pink pure matte lipstick glides on with ease while delivering an ultra-matte finish.

NARS Mascate Pure Matte Lipstick ($25)
The French name for the capital city of Oman, located on the Arabian Sea, this true red pure matte lipstick is both mysterious and dramatic.

NARS Galion Nail Polish ($17) (Limited Edition)
This deep gray nail polish creates a luxe smoky look.

Although I’m a FAIL at matte anything I feel like I absolutely must have Montego Bay Pure Matte Lipstick, the shade looks incredibly flattering. I think I’m ok on everything else. There is anything that screams at me as a must have here.

Really like Grand Palais and Delphes! Montego Bay looks promising too! Definitely excited to check this one out!

The Montego Bay lipstick and the Galion nail polish are the only ones calling my name here; the other colors are very unwearable on me (extremely pale skin, reddish hair, light eyes).

Actually I really like the eyeshadows !
Grand palais looks amazing ! *o* (plus I love going to Grand Palais. Wearing Gland Palais while going to the Grand Palais would really be cool no ?).
Delphes looks really cool too but temptalia says that it’s not highly pigmented.

Ohhh, that Delphes trio is so pretty. I don’t know how it would look on me, but I love looking at it.

I love Nars lipsticks and blush colors, but their eyeshadows just never really live up to my hopes. Montego Bay matte lipstick looks amazing!!

  • Claudia

  • Nia

I will get both matte lipsticks and I hope I can stay away from the blue eyeshadows. No need to get it, nothing to see here so I can move on.

Love the texture of NARS matte lipsticks 🙂

I caved today at lunch time and went over to Sephora – the LE trio is mine! Awesome colors, very soft/pretty!
