Urban Decay The Revolution High Performance Lash Curler Some Scary Shiz!

OoooOoOoo da Claw!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. If you’re that person feel free to reach out and leave a comment or follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin‘.

    • the Muse

  • Rita

LOL Muse!! I cracked up when I saw those pictures! If I didn’t know it was an eyelash curler, I would have thought it was a strange looking wrench or something! I can’t wait to read your review on it.

    • the Muse

lol rita ;-D weirdest design ever for a curler so innovative!

  • Lulee

this is the single greatest post i’ve ever seen on a beauty blog.

  • the beauty alchemist

Ha, when I saw this yesterday I thought the same thing. It looks a little less scary once you really look at it but it’s quite a design. Haven’t tried it though, have you ?

    • the Muse

not yet ;-D haven’t had a sec to really sit down and use it but will do so shortly ;-D kinda strange isn’t it?

  • Maggie

  • Mia

Haha thanks for the laugh Muse, this was one of my fave scenes from toy story! This does looks like a scary tool, are you gonna to do a review on this claw eyelash curler? I really like the sleek black design.
BTW have you smelled The Body Shop Lychee Blossom, its a new summer scent and I think it smells amazing.

    • the Muse

  • Maggie

Funniest post ever. And there have been some gut busting posts, but this made me squeal LOLz. Can’t wait to read the review too!

  • Crissy K

Looool You are too funny! I love the last picture. I feel sorry for the smooshed little guy. Horray for bucket of aliens!

  • fishball

haha, since when did us (humans) have a reverse role with the aliens???

  • kimkats

I now know that snorting coffee OUT your nose is not a pleasant experience, after having done so upon seeing this pic…. 😛

I knew that thing was really an instrument of torture – I just KNEW it! 😀

    U funny girl!!

  • Tina

Those aliens are so cute. Wouldn’t they be cute as a pencil topper?

I’m interested to see how this lash curler performs. I’m just glad it’s a lash curler and not one of those contraptions OBGYN docs use to open your womenly bits up to see inside where it’s dark and scary.

    • the Muse

oo yes ;-D that would be awesome Tina ;-D LOLLLLLLLLLL omg bad mental image!

  • the Muse

haha you guys are all cracking me up with how much you enjoyed these pics ;D!

  • Katie

Hahaha hilarious! I totally thought this when I saw this curler as well! I agree, best post ever! I’m really loving your blog! So glad I discovered it. 🙂

  • Sara

I followed this through the twatter link last night and totally laughed. I love it! I can’t wait for the review on these things either, they look too cool to suck!

    • the Muse

Sara are you channeling Jay…”Twatter?” LMAO Knee deep in Twatter are you?

  • Neeners

Omg how cute!! Thanks for the pictures. I can’t wait to read the review. Lol you just ooze cuteness!

  • Jo

    Best. Post. Ever.
Did you buy the aliens just for this post or did you happen to already have the amazing little things? Either way, absolutely brilliant. It’s this take on things that makes me read your blog ^o^

    • the Muse

aw jo cheers thanks hun! actually I have them hanging out all over my desk ;-D it just so happened that when the curler arrived I used them hehehe!

  • kharanya

LOLZ! So since the aliens got their butt probes, you’re going in from the brains eh? That eyelash curler looks freaky, I’ll stick with my Shu!

  • Eri

If you ever make a “best of the Muse”, this has got to top it!

  • Colleen P.

Hahahaha so enjoyed this! Looking forward to your review as I’m very interested in this monstrosity (and am without eye curler).

  • Sara

😀 Totally! I can’t bring myself to call it “twitter” to be serious about it. It’s too silly! So I call it twatter and tweets are twats. 😉 I forget sometimes and call it “twatter” in front of people and they seem very….amused.

I actually taught my grandmother “twat”! I tend to have colorful language, but that was one she didn’t know. She does now though. :o!

Some conservative cafe around here dropped me for saying “fuck” once, now I’m waiting to see if anybody drops me for quoting “that gash isn’t gonna fuck itself, you know” the other day. No big deal, I don’t have much to twat about anyway. 😉

  • Janice

Ive been reading your blog for a few yrs now and I can honestly say this is my fav post! I loooove your sense of humor! ~hugs~

    • the Muse

aw shucks thanks Janice so glad you got a giggle out of it ;-D xoxox!

  • Adrienne

I can’t wait for your review. I still hate mine lol but maybe I’m doing something wrong. I really want to love it bc it’s so scary cool looking LOL!!

    • the Muse

adrienne about to review it now…it’s a big fail sadly! :-/

      • Adrienne

AWWWW!! I knew it wasn’t just me, I’ve been waiting for more reviews to be posted before I returned it to Sephora but alas if you can’t make it work then I’m screwed lol.

The only way it kinda worked for me was by resting the top part against my eyelid and curling in an up motion but I always curl my lashes after doing my eye makeup and then I have to retouch all my makeup, too much work for an eyelash curler.

        • the Muse

adrienne I’m returning it. It’s hopeful. I think people will really love it or really hate it. Personally I can’t get a good curl out of it without poking an eye out. I keep grasping both my bottom and upper lashes…it’s an ouch experience every time I use it. I think the lack of bars make it difficult to guide it in the right place 🙁 I’d rather just return it and stick with my old shu :-/ interesting design but in the end that’s about all it is, interesting and useless.

          • Adrienne

Exactly my sentiments. My Shu is still going strong but this concept looked so interesting. I found the lack of the sides made it harder to work with bc like you I had no way to guide it. I kept poking my eye too. It didn’t help that I kept hitting my contact lens either!! Thanks for the update :).

          • the Muse

hey adrienne…same here. shu rocks no question. I kept hitting my eye too. the curler actually kept getting the curler lodged up under my eye lid somehow…lol! that metal piece just slides all over the place! it’s def going back. It has a five star rating on Sephora so I guess I’m doing something wrong!? but overall just seems very lethal….cool design but not a use friendly one.

  • Adrienne

@ Muse: I know right!!! I posted a lengthy bad review at sephora ab all that (including that the bottom part moved side to side and was not at all even, I swear I crimped and pinched more than I curled, red swollen eyes are not a good look) last friday. I checked again today and it’s still not there and yet there is one from yesterday already posted!! I posted another bad one again today but personally I’m starting to wonder if Sephora intentionally removed my bad review to keep up hype for it? I don’t think Sephora would do that and I’ve always trusted their reviews…. Hopefully it was just a glitched bc I would hate for anyone to spend money on this junk.

    • the Muse

omg really adrienne!? that’s crazy! it’s all five star at the moment…..I see two raving reviews that’s it. WOW….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve always trusted them too! I guess we just don’t know how to use it as I already have a comment on my review saying it’s great and it’s from a regular reader…! But I def can’t get this one down…..the caged in bars are there for a reason hahaha…it’s so you don’t poke an eye out when using your curler!

      • Tammie

This is why I go to bloggers I trust and read their reviews and look at swatches 🙂

        • Adrienne

I do the exact same thing LOL!!! It’s such a shame though bc I’ve always loved reading Sephora reviews even though I don’t solely based my purchases on them. I depend heavily on bloggers and review sites.

@ Muse: I agree. those “cages” are there for a reason lol! Major beauty fail.

          • the Muse

ha adrienne preach it sister ;-D love the funky look but no work-y=FAIL!

  • Kate

hilarious! Once again, love your sense of humor. Also just watched Toy Story 3 last night. xD
