NARS Pure Matte Lipstick Montego Bay Review, Swatches, Photos
As far as I’m concerned matte lipstick is the devil’s work! That shiz is all kinds of hard for me to pull off! But I was every so tempted by NARS Pure Matte Lipstick shade in Montego Bay for Fall 2011.
I picked it up during a recent Sephora haul and I sure am glad I did.

NARS Pure Matte Lipstick is a surprisingly easy to wear matte lippie as the formula is quite hydrating and has a smooth glide and wear without fading, drying out, or looking less than fresh on lips. The lipstick has a very good color payoff with full color coverage and a very easy application as some mattes tend to apply a bit patchy but this has a nice, even glide. It’s not everyday you come across a matte lipstick with such a great formula.
What attracted me to the lipstick would be the new color, Montego Bay, which released with the NARS Fall 2011 Collection. The color is a rosy pink shade that I found had a certain warmth to it that made it easy to wear. It comes across as a dusky pink rose on my lips without looking overly bright. If you can’t normally wear pinks well you’ll find Montego Bay easier on the wear due to the warmth of the color.
Overall, this one was a hit for me. It looks natural and pretty and wears comfortably for a matte but I admit I prefer a little gloss on top.
