Maybelline Great Lash Lots Of Lashes Mascara

Because taking a really bad cult favorite and revamping it is order…

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, as far as I am concerned, is way too over hyped and many of you agree….heck, we’ve discussed it to death right?

But maybe Maybelline is taking things into consideration here…maybe their new Great Lash Lots Of Lashes Mascara is going to be our must have drugstore mascara!

Jump!

Maybelline Great Lash Lots Of Lashes Mascara promises lots of impact, lots of style…how about lots of big azz lashes.

The new heart shaped applicator promises to easily reach all lashes and give them a fuller look.

Until I try it I’m not counting my chickens.

What do you think?

tried this when i first started using mascara over 20 years ago. Then i tried it again about a year ago. No plumping or lengthening, thin consistency, makes lashes really black. Basic mascara for teens or those on an uber tight budget. Always, and I mean ALWAYS smudged under my eyes and I don’t use this on my bottom lashes, only the top. I would rather buy my almost HG for a few bucks more, L’Oreal Lash Tubes.

  • Jamie

I’m interested in trying it. Heck, it can’t be much worse than the original…or could it? I’m looking forward to your thoughts, Muse.

I think it’s kinda similar to L’oreal Telescopic Explosion’s brush….well kinda the lots of lashes brush is heart shaped and TE is more spherical or ball shaped like the Givenchy Phenomenoneyes or whatever it’s called…I like the Original pretty well..haven’t tried this one yet…but might stick with trying out the TE first …. I might try this one too…..not sure yet….I also want to try Voluminous Carbon Black and Million Lashes… I own the L’oreal Extra Hydra Collagen Plumping Mascara and I Love it…works well with my NYC City Curls which adds length, curls real well, and adds a bit of volume…Anywhose…If anyone thinks this mascara is good and would recommend it let me know …. email

I’d try it if it were on sale and had a coupon…but I wouldn’t be running out to get it. But, I’m always willing to try a new mascara. I still haven’t quite found one that I’m absolutely in love with.

  • Perilla

If they pair this with the limited edition designs, then I would think about picking up the Vivienne Tam one…

I tried it once and it made my lashes all droopy. I was sad 🙁

  • Nekura

I actually don’t -hate- the original like most people. I got good results from it overall.. it’s very buildable for me but the only issue is that it smudged easily like kiwikiwidragon mentioned.. I’d try this one though! the brush looks interesting.. hopefully it comes in waterproof. I’ve always liked the simple but cute bottle.

  • jajaa

I still agree some of them are over hyped, but that brush is too interesting to try. I mma go get me one =)

  • Comrade Garlic

It’s not that bad. The brush really does a good job grabbing all the lashes and giving decent length. Not much volume. But the look is pretty. I got a little bit of smudging but not much. I’m thinking of keeping the rush and trying it with other mascaras.

What drug store mascara do you recommend? I don’t have any real complaints about mine, so I’m rather loath to spend 15-20 bucks on it (I rather use that money towards good shadow or lip gloss or whatever)

  • Tigress

I agree, Great Lash is a crappy mascara in my book. I don’t think any brush will fix that.

  • Brittany

I never thought this mascara was any good, even though inexpensive. I recently tried e.l.f.’s mineral mascara and it works great! For $3 too!

  • TerriB

I use the original as a second coat mascara every day. It adds a lot of dark black to the lash tips (alone, it does nothing for me). Looking forward to your review of the fancy new brush!

  • Fey

    The wand looks interesting. I’m a sucker for cutesy packaging, and this matches one of my running outfits perfectly. I’ll have to pick it up for that shall reason. -_-;

This stuff is awful!! Don’t try it muse! A waste of the few dollars it cost! My lashes were so brittle they looked like pinestraw. Oh not to mention it only looked like i had about 3 lashes on my eye lol. My HG mascara is YSL, but when I’m on a budget , maybelline’s the falsies always treats this lady right 😉

  • Sara

I know a lot of people swear by this stuff…but I hate it. I’ve always hated it, and even as a teenager wouldn’t purchase it. There is nothing they can do, gimmick-wise, to make me ever purchase it. The last time I tried it someone gave me a free tube and I was like “this?? this is someone’s hg?? whaaa?”

I await your review, Muse, and if you don’t get get it we’ll all understand. :p

  • Lisa

Yeah I can’t see that brush working for me at all. I didn’t like the original so I’m certain I won’t be purchasing this one.

  • Angie

I received Great Lash Lots of Lashes for my birthday. While I thought the original Great Lash was okay when I used it (when I was younger and new to makeup), I feel like whether or not you classify Lots of Lashes to be better depends on your preference. The shape of the brush is nice, but it doesn’t make that much of a difference as the bristles do. The bristles are, of course, the rubbery kind and not the fibery kind. So it just depends on what you like. I wouldn’t say this mascara is anything amazing though, as the formula is the same.

  • Alexis

I’ve been using this for about a week and I really like it. You can only put about 2 or 3 coats or it clumps up but otherwise I think it’s pretty good and I really like the new brush. It also doesn’t smudge under my eyes. So for me it works really well!

  • breyerchic04

I like the formula because it doesn’t look fake on me, but I don’t like the brush (actually I am one of those weirdos who cuts out the brush and uses her own every use). I don’t use it everyday, I’m currently using Blinc more because i can cry with it on.

    So yeah I’ll try this.

  • kimk

Soooo… u suppozed to stab your eyes out with the new wand after you discover that you’ve been suckered into buying another craptastic mascara by the King of Craptastic Mascaras?

Nope, I’m stayin’ with my tried and trues – Mascara is the one thing I seldom stray on! I have 3 or 4 that I worship and rotate among them! (ok that sounds *so* weird…. and perverse!) 😀 I haz Mundai Brayn…

I discovered/purchased this item about a month ago @ Target. I initially purchased it only for the brush cause I was intending to use it for my lower lashes (perfect size/design by the way)…

Update?: It has now been incorporated to my daily routine!

For reference, my lashes are naturally straight/dark/medium length & thickness. I first apply my favorite waterproof mascara (mainly to hold curl) and then finish by applying 1-2 coats of this mascara for a darker (medium) thicker effect. Not the “best”, but definitely not “bad” at all. As always, everyone has their own preference and opinion.

For the record, I too was in the band wagon of dissing “America’s #1 Mascara”. The brush definitely changed my opinion. I hope it does for you as well. ^_^

  • lydiapurple

I hate the original one, but this one worked really well even without an eyelash curler!! I am very happy with this one!

  • Audri

i tried it today and i loved it! it got literally every lash, even my really hard to reach end lashes which twist and turn a lot and it defined them perfectly and i even did two coats and NO CLUMPS! i noticed that you can actually SEE all my lashes as well which is something i’ve had a problem with for a long time with mascaras! i recommend it to people who want legnth and defination, not too sure how it would wear as a volumizing mascara but other than that i feel its awesome! definatly better than the orginal and the brush is so small and precise! love it!

  • Angela

I bought this mascara about a month ago and I really like it. I think it is a perfect everyday casual mascara. It is cheap and easy to apply, especially if you have short eye lashes. However, if your looking for a mascara to wear out with the girls or on a date I would say pass on this one for the night.

  • Crystal Rodriguez

It takes a little getting used to, but the lengthier bristles work for longer lashes like your upper lids, and the more narrow part of the brush works awesome for your lower lashes and inner corner lashes. I love it!
