Sephora Double Contouring Cream Blush Review & Swatches
I spent the better part, no joke, of an hour trying to pop open the new Sephora Double Contouring Cream Blush. I could not get it open for the life of me. It started with, oh cool new blush but progressed to me on the floor with the compact in my mouth with my teeth around it trying to get it open.
Seriously.
I tried everything but couldn’t get it open. I even wriggled a little screw driver under the lid and still nada.
Blush Challenge!
The top part (lid of the compact) is made of plastic but the bottom well is rubber. This design should have clicked with me and I should have realized it opened the same way Urban Decay Star Dust doh!
So don’t make the same as I made. Just squeeze the sides of the rubber bottom and the lid will flip open automatically. Don’t say I didn’t warn you as I don’t want to catch you with a scissor, knife, or screw driver trying to wriggle it open or worst with your teeth!
Packaging is rather brilliant once you get the knack for opening it. Just squeeze the sides and it flips open easily. I like techy little gadgetry packaging like this (apologies for the appearance of the blush, this is what happens when you can’t figure how to open it ha!)
For $14, do yourself a favor, purchase a few of these, you’ll be delighted not only with the funky packaging but the formula of the blush.
This cream to powder blush has a nice pop of color and glides across skin like butter. It has a soft, velvety texture that you can apply with fingertips or a brush. The weightless formula blends seamlessly into skin leaving behind a brilliant touch of color that builds super easily but hey, a little goes a long way here.
The best part is the wear time which weights in at at least 10 hours. I put it on in the morning and can get through my work day and into my night play without it fading away
The color I tried out was Poppy Pink which is a bright shade of neon-like coral. It’s a little scary in the pot but applies subtly for a bright pop of coral on cheeks or can be built up to a brighter finish should you like.
Overall, Sephora hits it out of the park with these. Only problem? It comes in only six shades. We need more variety.
