NYX Waterproof Concealer Stick Review & Photos

I didn’t know NYX had a concealer stick. I guess I’ve been missing out! But hey, now is a good time as any to try out the new NYX Waterproof Concealer Stick as they’ve revised the formula and introduced some new packaging to go along with it.

Have you ever tried it before? Did you even know it existed?

Take a look!

Available in eight shades and three correcting shades NYX has improved on their Waterproof Concealer Stick with a new formula and packaging.

NYX, known for their simple black packaging, has recently ventured into introducing a few products with colorful packaging. Their new blush sticks is one example and now their Waterproof Concealer Sticks gets the same treatment with a bright blue tubing.

I always get nervous about lipstick style concealers, you know twist ’em up, slap ’em on…! But no worries this is not your traditional packaging as it’s considerably slimmer than those old lipstick tubes and features a highly portable design. The smaller size makes them nifty for travel as they take next to no room at all in your makeup bag. Plus the smaller slim sticked concealer is also ideal for getting into the corners of your eyes. Bobbi Brown always recommends attacking the inner corner of your with concealer as this creates brighter eyes and eases darkness considerably and these little concealers are the perfect size for dabbing concealer right into those little nooks and crannies.

Formula isn’t terribly moisturizing but it isn’t drying either and I had no issues with creasing. It blends easily and covers up minor to medium issues but heavier problems like severe dark circles might need something a little more powerful since pay off ranges from sheer to medium. The smaller size is also perfect for dotting onto small blemishes or problem areas around your face.

Indulge in shades like lavender for sallow or dull skin, green to neutralize redness, or yellow for dark circles.

Overall, for under $6 this is a nifty little concealer that works a treat for quickie cover up issues. It’s not a long time, major solution but it is a simple and effective way to conceal under eye or blemish issues in a flash and it’s an excellent size for travel and touch ups on the go.

Likey!

I bought one of these new concealer sticks about 3 weeks ago but they still sent me the old packaging with the old formula. I wanted to try the new one but I still like this one!

I have the old version of this concealer (not waterproof) and it is very hard to blend and wears off in about 5-6 hours. Might try this new one if I hear more good reviews. I feel like NYX needs to decide on their price point though. Some products are a great value but then some products are very overpriced for a drugstore brand. Get it together NYX!

Question: Do you feel like these could easily break? It looks like if you twisted it out enough and used enough force it could…?

    • the Muse

yup that’s why you don’t wanna twist all the way up. so long as you don’t, you’re fine 🙂

  • Linda

does it hold up to the claim that it is waterproof? how many hours does this concealer hold?

  • Sam

Are these really waterproof? I can’t find a review anywhere that answers that.

    • the Muse

waterproof in what way? swimming? humidity/hot weather? oily skin?

  • Sam

waterproof like humidty and hot weather or your eyes watering onto it or even getting lightly wet in the water not full on swimming maybe a waterpark? thanks for replying so fast!

    • the Muse

mmmm not really sam. warmer weather you could be ok but getting water around your eyes prob will result in some creasing. hope this helps! 🙂
