Dior Addict Lipstick Palace & Jet Set Review & Swatches
Dior Addict Lipstick has improved with age. I recall my first Addict Lipstick purchase when it originally launched, I remember being disappointed because I wanted something slicker, shinier….last year Dior reformulated Addict Lipstick and the improvements are very noticeable. They took something that was good and made it great.
The Dior Summer 2012 Collection will be launching shortly and with it three limited edition shades of Addict Lipstick. Two of these shades embrace the orange, peachy trend you’ll be seeing for the season. The shade as we discussed a million times already, does prove difficult to wear, but both Palace and Jet Set, the new Addict Lipstick shades, prove easy to wear and allow you to enjoy the trend without having to contend with how you can wear a loud, vibrant shade of orange on your lips.
Take a peek!
Dior Addict Lipstick is an extra hydrating lip color packed into a lightweight formula that provides just the right amount of moisture, shine, and color to lips. The lighter formula has always proved incredibly comfortable to wear on my lips and has a wear time of four to five hours without eating or drinking. These have soft, even glide that slides easily and flawlessly into place. Even during my worst dry lip moments, Dior Addict has always had a soft as butter glide without accentuating flaky areas. Coverage is sheer to medium with plenty of option for building up to a better color pay off but the deciding factor here is the color you go with obviously, the darker the shade, the better color off you’ll see. They have a hydrating feel and shiny finish and also manage to keep lips nicely moisturized through the wear time which is important as wearing a lipstick that sucks the moisture out of your lips is never appealing.
Palace and Jet Set are two new, limited edition shades that Dior introduced with their Summer Collection. Jet Set is a peachy orange with a sheer to medium pigmentation. The shade will fit along lovingly with a splash of Dior Addict Lipgloss in Orange Pareo on top if you’d like to go a little bolder. The color allows you to enjoy the orange trend without every appearing too loud, too bold, or too vibrant. I find the shade completely soft and wearable and very fitting for the season. Palace takes things even lighter with a nude peach. I typically can’t wear nude beige-y shades of peach like this but with gloss on top it looks very natural. The shade should work well if you’re going for more of a Kim-K nude lip look as you can apply a matching beige shimmery gloss on top for that perfect nude lip look.

Both shades prove subtle little hints of color without overwhelming your look. They leave you with plenty of options to go a bit more vibrant on your face, cheeks, and eyes. Overall, the formula is always ace on Addict Lipstick, that goes without saying. If you’re a fan of the lipstick line I’m sure you’ll want to add these two colors to your collection.
