MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara Review

I’m always terribly impressed when a MAC mascara works for me. Not that I need to have an excuse to party but seriously let’s just celebrate the fact that MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara is kinda brilliant.

Take a look!

MAC Extended Play Lash Mascara is a curling, lifting, defining, and volumizing mascara with a lightweight texture that promises sixteen hours of wear.

I don’t have great experiences with MAC mascaras and have always said I don’t understand how a company who successfully creates a range of color cosmetics so well can’t get mascara right.

Why?

So, yeah, I am impressed sometimes when MAC comes out with some new mascara that actually works well.

MAC Extended Play Lash is for those who have issues with flaking, fading, smudgy-coon (aka raccoon eye) issues. This one has an extra long wear and I experience no problems with it wearing off or flaking however I typically never have issues with my mascara doing this anyway but this is nice for those with oily lids or just general problems keeping their mascara in place.

One of the nicest parts about it is the fact it removes so easily. Warm water will take it off in a few seconds or an oil based remover. I’m impressed that such a long wearing formula didn’t end up sticking around, impossible to remove, for hours on end.

I didn’t notice any breakage with the formula either, it’s very light and produces fluttery lashes. Actually one of the things I loved about it was the doll-like, fluttery lashes it produces.

I typically don’t include full size images with a mascara review but you can kinda see how nicely my lashes “flutter” in a fuller size photo!

The brush is a simple, straight-line. The bristles aren’t terribly bushy and the entire brush on a whole is very skinny which leads me to believe it’ll work excellent for those with shorter, stubbier lashes. It gives lashes a nice longer look but doesn’t produce a fuller lash look but no worries about a spidery one either. I also took note it did well curling decently and keeping curl due to the lighter texture.

You might find the volume lacking but overall, MAC Extended Play Lash might be worth looking into. I thought it produced a nice set of fluttery lashes with a light formula that didn’t give me a crunchy, stuff feel.

I liked it.

Well done MAC.

This one deserves a Muse Approval for purchase.

I know you mentioned in the post that this comes off easily with warm water, but would you say that no rubbing is involved in taking this off?

hi! Sorry about that, I guess my comment didn’t go through! I am seriously considering buying this mascara but was wondering how easily it comes off because that is one of my biggest issues with mascara T_T Would you say it fully comes off with warm water or no? Also, is any eye rubbing involved? thx! 🙂

sorry for the delayed reply meep. you need a little rubbing to insure it gets off completely.

Wow, it made your lashes look so long! I’d almost be tempted to think you were wearing falsies if I didn’t know better. And it’s only $15.00? I’ll have to try this one out since many drugstore mascaras are $10 and up and never last on me. Thanks for doing a review.

Your review is spot on! I use this mascara because it washes off easily with warm water and gives a nice fluttery appearance. My eyelids hate eye makeup remover. Have you come across a tubing mascara (MAC or other) that adds a bit more volume.
