Bath & Body Works Spooky Sweet & Sour Liplicious Lipgloss Review & Swatches

Liplicious Lipgloss in Spooky Sweet & Sour is one of three new Halloween themed glosses that Bath & Body Works has launched recently.

Unlike last year’s whooping ten lipgloss release I suspect the three flavors I recently told you about might be all we are getting this year but don’t quote me there. You never know when Bath & Body Works might surprise you with something else as the holiday approaches.

Let’s take a peek at Spooky Sweet & Sour.

This is a dual shade and finish gloss which is split down the center. It has a clear, crystal sparkle gloss on one side and a cream milky pink shade on the other.

The shades combine to create a transparent sparkle on lips. There isn’t very much pigment here so the pink shade doesn’t translate well on lips. It is highly glossy though but wear time, as with all Liplicious Lipglosses, is quite short.

I generally like these glosses since they are quite tasty and have a mirror-like shine which is ideal for using on top of lipstick.

Spooky Sweet & Sour isn’t exactly tasty though. I’m getting a hint of menthol from it with some sweetness that’s candy-like. It’s not a flavor I can easily put my finger on though…it has a lime on the tube but I’m definitely not getting any lime in the mix, just a candy flavor with some sort of menthol-ness. The sour element isn’t really there, it’s not the type of sour candy type flavor that would have you puckering your lips.

I actually didn’t love this one so I’m quite happy Bath & Body Works has a Buy 2, Get 1 offer as I can chalk this guy up as a freebie. Odd, as I typically love all the Liplicious Lipglosses but this one I didn’t feel the love for.
Tried it?

Do share!

Curious what you think of the taste.

Aww, thank youuuuu! Fairly new! I started up on July 6 and have been posting daily. My job doesn’t have a huge creative component to it so I decided to start writing for myself! I’m loving it.

Thanks for the review! I was eyeing this one – mostly because of the “sour” factor – but will definitely be passing.
