BRTC Pore Magic Primer Review
BRTC Pore Magic Primer was gifted to me by a friend who was quite exhausted listening to me whine about the evils of silicone primer.
Granted, it is a silicone primer but she told me it was magical and I’d feel so much better about silicones after using it.
Hmm did that happen?
Why yes, it did.
I’m not a fond fan of silicone primers. I have no need of them having drier skin and prefer more hydrating primers. However, I can’t deny they do a fine job of blurring the pores on my nose as well as creating a VERY good barrier between my skin and foundation preventing it from wearing away and/or oxidizing during wear.
This comes in a tiny jar just like my beloved Clarins Instant Smooth. The texture is considerably lighter than Instant Smooth or L’Oreal’s Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base. It also has less of a powder-y feel and an easier glide across skin. I like it because it doesn’t make me want to itch myself to death as I’ve had this experience with products like Smashbox Photofinish Primer.
It mattifies skin a little bit but if you have super oily skin it probably won’t do the trick. I find it creates a nice soft focus on skin that creates a smoother finish overall. I like the barrier it creates between my skin and BB Cream or foundation. This allows my base to remain fresher for longer periods of time since it isn’t touching my skin directly but laying on time of the Pore Magic Primer.
I don’t have larger pores on my face however on my nose I do have visible pores which I use this to conceal. It does an ok job of blurring the appearance of pores but I imagine if you have larger pores you might need something a little better to tackle the issue.
Overall, BRTC Pore Magic Primer is a perfect little product for me and my drier skin. It’s a great prep for makeup and gives the benefits of a silicone primer without being overwhelming, itchy, or uncomfortable to wear. It also extends the wear of my foundation/bb cream by at least two hours which is a plus.
I like this stuff a lot.
On the downside, why doesn’t it come with a spatula? Very unusual for an Asian brand!
It was gifted to me by a friend but BRTC is available on E-bay as well as online shops just be careful where you purchase from.
I’d recommend trying it out!
