Clarins welcomes four new shades of Rouge Prodige True Colour & Shine Lipstick in for Fall 2012.

I’m starting to rearrange my makeup stash so that all my rich, warm shades of red, peach, and brown are within reach. Three shades of Rouge Prodige True Colour & Shine are making a guest starring appearance in my collection as these are the types of shades that create that perfect Fall lip look!

Take a look!

According to Clarins the first objective of a lipstick is to attract attention with color and shine. But let’s face it we all love packaging? Clarins embraces a more elegant side with many of their newer releases. Long gone are the red and silver palettes and compacts you might have come to known and love. In there place are slick gold packaging with a tiny “C” initial marking this amazing beauty product as belonging to Clarins.

Originally launched in 2010, Clarins Rouge Prodige True Colour & Shine Lipstick ($28) is a full color lipstick that contains high fidelity pearl, a high tech polymer, which captures color pigment and enhances its radiance and keeps pigments in place for excellent color hold.

I’ve always felt the key feature that deserves praise with Rouge Prodige True Colour & Shine Lipstick is the pigmentation of each lipstick. These provide a full color experience with a single swipe. They aren’t incredibly moisturizing or hydrating for something that contains “shine” in the name but they have a fairly nice glide on lips and do not dry lips out through the wear. There is a hint of shine but nothing dramatic so a little clear gloss is in order should you desire more of glossy finish.

Dark Cherry, Spiced Orange, Fig

They wear fairly lightweight for something with this much pigment and have a rich, creamy formula. The wear time has always proved rather nice on these even if I drink or nibble through the wear they manage to remain quite fresh.

I do wish it contained a little more moisture particularly because of its name, I just associate shine with moisture.

The shades for Fall are something you might want to peek at. There are four new colors to choose from, three of which I’ve featured in this review. I wish more brands would focus on lips for Fall when launching their seasonal collections. These are colors that are ideal for Fall looks.

Overall, Clarins Rouge Prodige True Colour & Shine Lipstick is something high end makeup users will love to indulge in since they fit a high end lipstick into a lower price bracket (higher end lipsticks ranging at $35 and up). These colors will create some stunning looks for Fall and deserve a look at if you love warm, bold lip looks for the season.
