L’Oreal Golden Grape Colour Riche Lipstick Review, Swatches, Photos

If you told me a few days ago I’d be busy purchasing a shade of lipstick entitled Golden Grape I’d have called you a liar. I’m not a fan of vampy lip colors and Golden Grape I dunno…the golden sounds appealing but the grape part not so much!

But indeed it ended up coming home with me after I saw it on a L’Oreal Parisian Display at Walgreens (although I don’t believe the shade is actually part of this collection).

Take a look!

Well, wow, isn’t this delightful? Golden Grape is exactly that…a shimmering golden grape shade. Ok, stop, don’t panic. It isn’t what you think!

It actually comes across as a warmer shade of gold berry on my lips and not so much grape. I absolutely love the color. It has flecks of gold shimmer and a delightful gold sheen when applied. The color is a crushed purple-y berry shade that’s perfect for Fall.

Although L’Oreal Colour Riche Lipstick isn’t great tasting the formula is fairly good. This has a light pigmentation with a high glossy finish and a nice glide across lips. It’s quite hydrating and with a “wet” glossy finish.

Loves it!

Don’t overlook this, I highly suggest snagging it.

Muse Approved for purchase.

Walgreens has a BOGO offer at the moment so you can get one shade for $5.99 and a second for $2.99.

Own it?

I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on the shade.

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised how wearable and how much use you’ll get out of this color!

I purchased this item.

This ain’t no grape lol!!! It’s pretty though 😀 Think I might head over to Walgreens today *walks away whistling*

I don’t so Lisa. It was in the Parisian display but it seems like all the shades in the display are available in the general catalog.

This is a lipstick I ended up returning, actually! The Golden Grape and one of their newer reds (forgot the name). I was expecting the formula to be the same as other Color Riche lipsticks I’ve used in the past; even, opaque coverage with decent pigment. While this isn’t a bad lipstick (looks great on you), I wasn’t expecting it to be that sheer. I wish they had a labeling system to show if a color is sheer!

bonnie labeling system would be great also to show finish as I’m always opening every single color to see if it is a cream or sparkle. Aww so sorry you didn’t like it. It does build well but only to medium pigmentation or so…! good tint of color but not full coverage :-/

thanks for the review Muse! The gold flecks look pretty chunky from the picture you had of the lipstick, but there doesn’t seem to be noticeable glitter in your swatch. Do you find it gritty on your lips?

The shade looks much better than the name sounds 🙂

not at all suzanne. It’s a smooth, hydrating feel. Light and has a nice shiny finish ;-D agreed, the name sounds scary ;D!

Ruh-roh, I am returning something AND I happen to have a $5 extra bucks at CVS…might need to grab this guy @_@

When I saw the swatch I was afraid it would look to sparkly on you, but it actually looks great!

  • katrosado

This is so pretty. It reminds me of the Avon lipsticks that had gold in them too. But they were opaque. I’m going to pick this one up. Looks great on you!

    • the Muse

katrosado GOOD comparison, they do remind me of those avon lippies, they 24k gold ones?

I might just buy this. If it hasn’t been snagged already from all the usually places. Loreal is one of the few lipstick formulas I actually like to put on.

  • Miriam

That swatch looks so lovely. I’ve been wanting an affordable color like this ever since I saw MAC’s Oh,Oh,Oh. There’s just something about lipsticks with golden undertones that make me go batty. Love the way it looks on you 🙂

I wouldn’t have considered this if I saw it in the store, but it’s an unexpectedly nice color, as for me I like that it’s berry-pinky but a bit sheer. I’d need glowing white teeth to pull off anything dark.
