About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Meh I’m so over fresh lippies. I never really liked the taste of em and the “coral” one totally isn’t coral. Bad fresh y u lie to me?!

Hey have you tried Ren’s glycolactic mask? Sephora has a bundle where you get a free sample sizes of the matching cleanser and serum with it. I’m super interested

  • Amy Amethyst

I know Sephora’s bday gift is some mini Fresh Sugar balms. My bday is this month on the 23rd so I’m trying to decide what I want to order so I can get the gift.

  • Laura

I’m also waiting for the birthday gift – but when Coral came out – I bought it. It was my first lip sugar – and I’m not really impressed. The color is off, maybe it should have some shimmer to it to pull off that color – or make it more opaque.

  • Mal @ The Chic Geek

Love this post! I want the set, and I am so excited for new eps of The Guild!

  • Shelby

Ooh I’d love this but $58 Canadian for lip balm seems outrageous to me, especially since they 1/3 of this set out for free.

  • Carolien

Or if you’re like me you can get the $28 set with Berry, Passion and Honey and the birthday kit with original and rose and only be missing plum and coral. (I really want to try the coral one but I’ve never tried any of them so decided the birthday kit and 28 dollar set was all I could do)

  • cat

Are these about the same size as the ones they give out as birthday gifts? I ask because my birthday gift lip balms were kind of fragile and the product would wiggle around in the tube. The formula also seemed a little different, maybe not as thick.

    • the Muse

not sure cat I don’t have the bday kit, I listed the size in the post so maybe compare them to your bday set?

  • Quinctia

These minis are such a nice size! (I got the birthday gift way back in February, so I’ve had time to play with them.)

I wish I could just snag a couple of the ones I don’t already have instead of getting a huge set.

  • Debster

I use to love The Guild, then I got bored with it. I don’t know why. Sorry Felicia!

  • breyerchic04

I got the birthdays minis in january (actually ended up with two sets because I ordered online and they gave me one in the store even though I said I’d already gotten it).

In that size, they’re really fragile. The rose especially wants to break and squish all the time. I do love what they do to my lips though, and hope the full sizes aren’t so bad. I want the berry.

    • Butterdaisy

I got mine in June and I agree I had to rescue mine several times. At first the screw caps were secure but then they got loose and would randomly come off as well. I’d always wanted to try these and glad I got them free bc I was not loving them like my Sara Happ balm and scrub set. I have extremely dry lips.

  • Majick

If I didn’t have Honey, Coral, and the b-day gift I’d be all over this. Even though the sizes are small it’s a great way to get all the shades.

  • JennaP

No one will ever believe that I was just Googling for a Fresh Lip Set the other day b/c I already went through my birthday set and am halfway through a big tube! I squealed loudly when I saw this post. CAN’T WAIT TO GET IT! YESSSSSSS

  • Swims alot

    Hi Muse
I read the post carefully, but I didn’t serthe price.
How much is the set ?

    • the Muse

sorry swims that’d be $48 dollars. had to peek at on sephora site, updated to reflect the price!

    • the Muse

it’s not a review me. It’s about a newly launched gift set from Fresh for the Holidays. Anything I review will clearly state “review” in the title post and include personal photos, swatches, etc….it’s not an ad either, It’s something I came across on the sephora website, really liked, and decided to share with other beauty loving folks that visit Musings 🙂 I’m not paid to post this so it’s def not an advertisement. I posted it because it interested me. Hope this helps!

  • Swims alot

Thanks Muse. It’s a little too rich for my blood. Lol
I think the minis don’t hold up too well.

    • the Muse

my pleasure swims alot! there are a ton of gloss/balm sets girl, you’re bound to find one to fit your budget! ;-D

  • BooBooNinja

I am so excited that the minis are this year’s BDay gift. Unfortunately, I have to wait until December to get mine. I’m tempted by this holiday set as I’ve heard that these balms are incredible.

Do you think Fresh balms are worth their price?

    • the Muse

I really enjoy them booboo but now with so many lip balms introduced in the drugstore recently like loreal caresse, maybelline lip butters, loreal butters, etc…I think you can find cheaper ;-D so debatable on the price!
