MAC Glamour Daze Lipglass Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

The MAC Glamour Daze Holiday 2012 Collection features five shades of limited edition lipglass. I actually didn’t run across a shade I had to own from this lot but I’m heading to counter sometime this week to check out the other three that I haven’t yet seen in person.

I did get my hands on Talk Softly to Me and Flight of Fancy but unsure if you technically need either.

Take a look! Perhaps you’ll find a shade to love.

Talk Softly To Me and Flight of Fancy

These two shades really don’t feel Holiday-ish to me but you might find both or one of the two are must haves. I honestly liked neither.

Flight of Fancy is a vampy purple with silver sparkle. The shade has opaque coverage with a nice color payoff. For such a vampy shade it actually applies quite easily without looking patchy or streaky. The color is easy enough to wear as well which surprised me as I’d typically look very odd sporting a shade like this. The silver shimmer is very refined here and does not translate well to lips so don’t expect a sparkling purple as the color looks more creamy on my lips sans any real glitter, sparkle, or shimmer.

Flight of Fancy

Talk Softly to Me is a shade I’d typically avoid as its a creamy coral pink aka quite a mod cream. The shade has decent pigmentation and will look best on very fair skin and offer the best pigment on those with colorless lips. However, those with more pigmented lips will find the color falls a little flat. It’s quite mod with a cream finish that’s not particularly flattering on me.

Talk Softly to Me

MAC Lipglass typically has a smooth feel with a sticky feel that allows the formula to wear quite long. It’s vanilla scented and flavored with a comfortably long wear even thought it is quite tacky. I’ve kinda made my peace with the tacky formula due to the really long wear these provide.

Sadly, the Glamour Daze Lipglasses weren’t terribly impressive for me. I’m going to head to counter to see the remaining shades, maybe something will jump out on me. These two sadly did not.

Anyone haul these colors?

Did you love on them?

Do share!

GURL! You need to stop thinking Talk Softly to Me looks bad on you. It looks good to me! Kinda youthful, actually. Flight of Fancy isn’t too bad either, but I can see why you might hesitate. I found a vampy/purple-berry (UD’s Confession) that looks good on me… but since it’s so far out of the norm for me, I’m too scared to wear it outside!

For now I hide my inner goth from the world… *sad sigh*

    P.S.
    I’m glad you’re okay. <3

MEH. That is the one word which sums up my reaction. I’ve been very meh on MAC as of late (cringes). I know the packaging is cool for the holiday, but the palates just aren’t really doing it for me; don’t hate me 🙂
