Estee Lauder Wild Sunset Pure Color Blush Review & Swatches

I don’t want to rock your boat too much but Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush is the best blusher in the universe (and beyond). No one panic…

It’s ok! I know you’re thinking how could this be possible? I thought Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush was the best blush in the known universe. Y u confuse me like this Muse?

My HG (holy grail) blush was NARS for a long time but Tarte proceeded to introduce those damn Amazonian Blushes and suddenly I couldn’t stop until I owned ever shade in creation. Needless to say I now had two favorite blushes….

But then…Estee Lauder Pure Color Blush entered my life and I’m pretty sure that I won’t rest until I own every single shade EL has put out. These are amazing! I noticed I reach for them more often than I do Tarte or NARS lately. Am I cheater? Possibly but cheating never felt so good!

Although I’ve raved and reviewed them before I recently cracked open Wild Sunset and it was instant romance. I wanted to woo this gorgeous shade, whisper sweet nothings in its ear, pet it, stroke it, have a makeup-gasm with it. Well, not that far but you get the point.

This is a wild shade of golden peachy coral. It’s a shimmer blush but it really contains very little sparkle so I think if you have issues and possible hate for NARS Orgasm due to sparkle issues you might want to snatch this up. The color is intense and highly pigmented but with a lighter hand you can get a very light dusting of golden coral on cheeks that lights up the entire room and your cheeks too of course.

The joy of Estee Lauder’s Pure Color Blush is the smooth silky, easy to blend formula and of course, the excellent joy to the world color pay off and pigmentation. For a deeper review of the blush please do follow this link.

Wild Sunset is a shade that will work on many skin tones thanks to the intense color pay off. If corals and peaches are your blush shade of choice you’ll love it.

I loved it, it makes me look forward to trying more shades in this gorgeous blush range.

Well done Estee Lauder I’m ever impressed with your newest offerings lately.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I have Peach Passion and I love it! It’s definitely one of the better blush formulas out there. So amazed by how pigmented, easy to blend, smooth as well as how long it stays vibrant on my cheeks! Definitely recommended πŸ™‚

I really do think that Estee Lauder makes some of THE classiest makeup… look at the packaging! Look at that color!! Just stunning all around; I’m definitely adding this to my Christmas list πŸ™‚

I admit I’m a matte brat when it comes to blush. I too love the Tarte blushes for that. I’ll be checking for your collection of the EL ones and that color does look a tad like Nars O. ya?

  • Bethany

Ohhh gosh it is so pretty! Yeah, I steer clear of Orgasm because of the glitter. Tempting…

I am so glad you reviewed this blush. I have been wanting it for so long and haven’t taken the plunge. This color is stunning since I’m a coral/peachy gal. I have also been eyeing Lover’s blush as well. One of these will be mine for Christmas. Thanks for your review.

That shade looks so pretty on you! I may need to venture into the world of EstΓ©e Lauder blushes. With that kind of pigmentation, I bet it will last forever. The finish looks very natural!

aw thanks jules def do try they are the best blushes ever! quite on par with tom ford’s blush!

  • KimberlyAnne

I LOVE these new blushes. I don’t think people are giving Lauder enough love with all the new & awesome eyeshadows, blushes & glosses they are coming out with.

  • Fran

I wholeheartedly agree with you, EstΓ©e Lauder’s pure color blushes are awesome! I own wild sunset, peach passion, and sensuous rose…and I love all three. Wild sunset and peach passion have the right amount and right kind of shimmer: they are the definition of glowy to me. Never frosty, never crazy shimmery, just pretty:)

  • JennyD

Totally agree. Ever since I bought Wild Sunset many months ago it’s remained one of my absolute all time favorites!

  • Nik

Oh my gawd that is beautiful! I wish I had fair skin πŸ™‚ I want to try this formula now!

  • kimkats

OMG – that is gorgeous!! Is it a permanent color? I think EL is vastly underrated… Too many people write it off as an “old lady” line – (whatever THAT means)

I have a gwp sized blush in “nude rose” and it is my absolute go-to, don’t-need-to-think-about-it blush. Perfect nude/pink shade.

    I must haz this… Soon….

    • the Muse

it is indeed πŸ˜€ general catalog! ALL of the Pure Blush range is a MUST haz ;D

  • kimkats

Ooooooo…………… now I know what to get for the next EL GWP! πŸ™‚ Thanks Muse – it is loverly!!

  • Lilo

How is the staying power for this blush? I love Tarte’s blushes because they last throughout the day… but if you say this one is amazing, I may have to try it out.

  • Winni
