Lavshuca Double Colors Lip Stick Review & Swatches

Lavshuca Double Colors Lip Stick was released for Fall 2012. It’s a stick lip color which includes two matching shades that adds color and definition to lips.

I was a little intrigued by these and being such a fan of Lavshuca I was willing to give them a try.

Take a look!

The general idea of Lavshuca Double Colors Lip Stick is it contains two matching colors in one stick. The graduating shades go from deeper to lighter to create the illusion of fuller lips. Split down the center these reminded me of those old school rainbow crayons from my childhood.

The pencils are a swivel up design with a square flat head so they’ll never go dull. Although the square head probably sounds clumsy it actually works really well at filling color onto lips and you never having to worry about the shape of the pencil dulling down from its precise point. The deeper shade is what comes out the most with application where as the lighter one, Lavshuca calls this the “glow” color, comes across as a hint of shimmery tint on top of the darker.

There isn’t any real technique to application. Simply swipe and go. You can definitely see some difference between the two colors upon application if you’re really looking closely. But the darker shade is the more dominate of the two here. I understand the effect they are going for but it doesn’t exactly work out to a fuller lip look overall. For me, it just looks like a hint of tint on lips.

Rs-1 and RD-1

The formula is really lacking overall not only in color, these are quite sheer (I had to do about ten layers to get the color you see on my lips below), but also in texture. I find they aren’t terribly moisturizing, they also lack a nice smooth glide across lips and come across a tad drier during application.

Overall, if you’re looking for a hint of tint they may appeal but I’m unsure if they are really worth tracking down here in the US to bother. The formula is lacking, the color pay off is very sheer, and the overall idea of the lip stick creating fuller lips boils down to a very uneventful look.

Don’t bother in my opinion. There are a slew of other great Lavshuca products that are worth your time and attention. Double Colors Lip Stick isn’t one.

I purchased this item.

Thanks, for the tip 🙂 But after ten layers it looks great on you, Muse *giggles* TEN layers!

Even though they didn’t work for you, they still look beautiful on you!

Muse, RD-1 looks great on u!

I have brought 2 of them (RS-1 and PK-1) and got the same idea as you. They are not terribly pigmented nor terribly moisturizing. I am a lover of their Moist Melting Rouge, it is so glossy and moisturizing. This Double Lip Stick is just a big disappointment :((((

aw thanks sai, I’m not so sure! big time 🙁 I really like Moist Melting Rouge too, it’s very glossy and I had hopes for the same with these but no luck 🙁

I was so intrigued! Too bad they’re not that awesome. Thanks for the nostalgia moment with the rainbow crayons – making me want to find one of my colouring books. (Yes, I buy myself colouring books. They’re fun!)
