Tarte Awakening Cheek Stain Spring 2013

Time to add a healthy glow to your cheeks with the new Tarte Awakening Cheek Stain! This new shade of Tarte Cheek Stain was launched for Spring 2013 and happens to be the perfect sheer glowy nude with pink undertones that gives skin a sunkissed pink glow!

Loves it!

Tarte Awakening Cheek Stain comes in a chubby swivel up tube and is scented like delicious lemon sugar! I swear I want to take a bite out of these cheek stains! They smell so incredible!

Tarte Cheek Stain Awakening

Tarte has improved on their Cheek Stain considerably as the leaky gel-like formula is a thing of a past. The new denser yet jelly-like texture is firm to the touch but applies creamy adding just the right amount of glow to cheeks without ever looking over done. They leave behind a dewy finish with a hint of color. They do feel a tad tacky on skin so I recommend them over powder as the powder seems to mattify skin and soak up access oil allowing the blush to adhere to a softer surface.

New mellow packaging accompanies the release of the Awakening shade as well with purple and pink strips. The color is quite unique so chances are you don’t have something similar in your stash. There’s a bit of nude here with a bit of mauve-y pink and just the right amount of bronze to give skin an illuminating sunkissed glow. It’s the type of blush that looks healthy on your cheeks versus “made up”.

Apply blush directly from the tube by swiping onto cheeks and blending out with finger tips. The color runs sheerer but easily builds for more pop. Awakening is a universal shade that should be suitable for many skin types but may be a tad sheerer for really dark ones however, from pale to fair and tanned it’ll prove a good pick.

If you’re looking for the perfect travel companion for Spring break this easy to apply blush lends just the right glow to cheeks with fuss-free application.

Likey!

It’s available now at Sephora, Ulta, and tartecosmetics.com

    Hey Muse –

Did you notice that the Awakening color is 0.5oz, versus the 1.0oz of the previous shades? I know the 1.0oz is a LOT of product (and 0.50z will last for some time as well), but it just seems wrong to cut back the size and sell it for the same price. Anyway, still <3 Tarte.

i didn’t roxy! that sucks 🙁 I didn’t even realize that! thanks for telling me.

  • crango

Wow, what a lovely color! How’s the staying power? I find that most of Tarte’s cheek tend to fade pretty noticeably after a few hours/

    • the Muse

considerably better than the old formula crango, about two to three hours before it fades on me, old formula lasted like an hour on my skin and poof gone!

Love the color, but I’ve never used a cream blush. Does it remove you r foundation when you rub it in?

I picked this up on impulse to go with the Skintuitive (ha) lip crayon. Haven’t tried it on my cheeks yet but I really like how it swatches. Do you find it easier to swipe the stick on your cheeks and blend or swipe your fingers on the stick then apply to cheeks?

    • the Muse

it’s nasty as hell but I go with swatching from the tube to my face. Just find I can build better that way.

I *need* this! I love this sort of shade. I’m currently using NARS Zen, which is a close cousin, but the fact this isn’t a powder, and it’s from tarte is all the justification I need to pick this one up.

  • Kiss & Make-up

Oh, I expected a whole different color. Looks nice enough though. And I really like cream blushes.

I have a LOT od nude lipsticks the same colour & texture as Awakening.

Most lipsticks (even the el cheapos) have a much longer staying power than ANY cheek gel I have tried.

Using items to do double duty that I already own justifies my occasional high end brand splurge.

That logic makes sense to me 🙂

    • the Muse

I don’t really love the idea of a lipstick on my face and onto my cheeks and vice versa…bacteria… eep!

      • Donna

I don’t ever use the same brushes on lips & cheeks & being a borderline germophobe, all of my cream cosmetics get spritzed with alcohol after use anyway.

I agree with you, if you use the lipstick from the bullet on your lips or cheeks, there is a huge chance of bacteria transfer. The same as any other cream/gel double duty product.

Ahhh I want this so bad! I have always wanted to try these cheek stains but never got around to it for some reason. Definitely have found the perfect shade though! 😀
