Vichy ProEven Mineral BB Cream Review & Swatches

Vichy ProEven Mineral BB Cream

Vichy ProEven Mineral BB Cream recently launched for Spring in two shades selections of Light and Medium. At $32.50 it is one of the more mid-range BB Creams you’ll see here in the US even though it is available at drugstores and Ulta.

One thing I personally love about BB Cream is how it brightens up my skin and eases dullness. It’s two of the deciding factors for me when reviewing BB Creams, “Does it brighten my skin up?” “Does it ease dullness?” These are important issues for me so I choose BB Creams that work to address these issues.

Although Vichy ProEven Mineral BB Cream isn’t as creamy as Korean BB Cream it still manages to address dullness and brightens up my face which makes it solid gold brilliance. A little more SPF, a creamy texture with a little more moisture and I’d definitely feel like it was near perfect.

Here’s a look!

ProEven is an excellent name for this BB Cream as that is exactly what it does. It evens out skin tone and perfects it creating the illusion of perfect skin.

Coverage is seamless once applied. Foundation and BB Cream products should be worn but not seen and Vichy ProEven Mineral BB Cream is one of those products that applies and looks seamless, second-skin-like even, so you aren’t left looking like you have anything on at all. Yet your skin will look almost airbrushed in appearance.

This eases dark spots and redness while concealing minor problem areas on skin and creating a beautiful finish on skin. With primer it’ll create a smooth appearance so both pores and fine lines are reduced. Supposedly within a four week period it refines the appearance of skin giving it a more radiant and even look but I’ve only been using it about two weeks so unsure about those claims.

Both the Light and Medium shades do run rather pale however, the Medium fit me quite well. It runs a little sheerer than a traditional BB Cream but provides medium coverage built up. I love the Medium shade as it reminds of Jadilla J’s BB Cream (Korean brand). It has an almost gray based with a pink almost lilac undertone. I’ve always found that gray BB Creams tend to brighten up skin wonderfully and indeed this shade eases my dullness and gives my skin a brighter look and appearance. I think the SPF 20 is disappointing but at least it provides some protection.

The finish is semi-matte and a tad on the dry side but doesn’t cling to drier areas. If you’re expecting a richer, creamier texture you might be disappointed. This is a thinner gel-like consistency with a semi-matte finish that oily skin users will appreciate. The wear time is excellent! Without setting powder and merely primer I can get twelve hours of wear without a touch up.

Overall, Vichy ProEven Mineral BB Cream proved an excellent product. It’s not quite a traditional BB Cream formula but it def comes close to one. The seamless coverage it provides is lightweight and flawless diffusing the look of dark spots, evening out my skin tone, and easing dullness easily while giving my skin a bright, flawless look. I think it’ll be a great pick IF you can find a good color match as the two shades do run a little lighter so not everyone can take advantage here.

Do like!

I’d recommend checking it out.

Omg you had me at “airbrushed”! I’ll definitely be on the lookout for this.

Just the phrase “mineral bb cream” makes me think such positive thoughts. It looks very nice. I think the light would suit me I may have to try this. <3

oh my god how many dimethicones are there?!?! it is a silicone bomb unfortunately a no no for me 🙁

  • Sylvia

Hi muse! I was wondering if this would work in a NC 35. I love the sound of it since my skin is very oily and this has a semi matte finish

    • the Muse

sylvia might be a shade light for NC35……but should blend in ok…hard to say though.

  • Majick

I haven’t tried this one (Too Faced is my fav right now)but I do use the Vichy lift moisturizer and I really like it. It keeps me hydrated, doesnt’ break me out and has little to no smell. I may try this the next time I’m in need of a new BB cream.

    Oh yay! Want!
Been using Origins Vitazing tinted moisturiser and wanted to move to a BB 🙂 Thanks Muse!

Muse do you think the “light” shade would be pale enough for NW15 or lighter folks, like me? It’s hard to judge from the swatch because my monitor screws up colors.

    • the Muse

it should be, it doesn’t have a pink under tone but is a nice creamy natural. I think it would work!

  • amy

I like the tone of the mediuim, but it’s too dark; however, the light looks like it’s pale enough, but I’m not loving the tone… I’m also not loving the SPF 20 (I prefer a minimum of 30), and at $32, I expect more from a product. For now, I’ll stick with Garnier, and I want to try the Aveeno; they may not be perfect, but for what they are, the price is alot fairer.

Even if the product had a high SPF, it really wouldn’t matter cuz u need to use at least a teaspoon of sunscreen for your face to get the proper sun protection from any sunscreen product. And at least a teaspoon is a hell of a lot of bb cream or foundation! That’s why people should always wear a moisturizer with SPF under ANY product, regardless of whether the bb cream or foundation, etc. has SPF or not.

      • the Muse

i typically use SPF anyway whether it is or isn’t in my BB Cream/base products 🙂

  • Marcela

Sounds great! And it should be available here in Argentina, we have Vichy here. Thanks for the review, I’ll definitely keep my eyes peeled!

  • Satya

I am so glad that you posted the ingredients clearly! Because its misleading, stating its mineral bb cream, but that is not at all reflected in the ingredients!

So it may be a good cream, but its not true to what it states as being a natural mineral foundation.

    Thanks for the great review!

  • MJ

Very interesting, thanks for the review, Muse. Which do you like better, the Vichy or the Lumene? I’m pleased with the Lumene, but even the light isn’t quite light enough for how pale I am now.

      • MJ

The Lumene is definitely creamy. I accidentally wore it the other day with only the Arctic Aqua Moisture Booster and no day cream, and my face didn’t feel or look terribly dry, even in this cold, dry weather (I’m in NY too).

  • Christi

Ooh, do u have a link to a post u did on this aqua arctic moisture booster? Btw I really wanna try this Vichy one, I am a bb cream fanatic, but I doubt the light shade will be pale enough for me,I’m nc15.

  • chris

I was really looking forward to try this BB… and it does not have enough moisturizing ingredient (as any other BBs I’ve tried) and is very dry on my skin – enhancing every singly impurity even those that are practically invisible to the naked eye without this BB… $35+tax CAD down to the drain…

    • MJ

Surprising, I really like this one. Did you try using moisturizer before? I know this defeats the idea of an all-in-one product, but on my combo skin, almost all the BBs I’ve tried go on better with moisturizer first.
