Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream Review & Swatches

Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream 8

Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream is an old favorite of mine that deserved a little love today on my site. Released in Korea sometime ago it was one of the few BB Creams offered by Holika Holika at the time.

No it doesn’t smell like peaches sadly but it does contain a peach lip and cheek tint of that makes up for the lack of fragrance.

Take a peek!

Unfortunately, Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream comes in two shades selections so it is limited to the typical two shade Asian BB Cream release.

This comes in a squeeze tube and the cap contains a small mirror and a peach shade of lip and cheek cream. I think the peach blush is darling on my cheeks and produces a nice glowing shade with a high pigment for building however, on lips it has a chalky, dry look that’s very zombie-like so I’d avoid using it on lips and stick to cheeks. The formula is creamy and blends very easily!

I love this BB Cream so much because it’s the perfect light beige shade for my skin. If you’re around NC10-15 it should suit you well but I am leaning towards saying NC20-25 (I believe I’m a 25 or a 30?) it should adjust well as I use it and have no issues with looking pasty.

This has a creamy, not too thick texture with a less than hydrating feel. Compared to other BB Creams I don’t find this terribly moisturizing or hydrating. It blends and absorbs easily into my skin creating a beautiful, perfected finish with coverage that can go from sheer to medium. Redness, blemishes, acne scarring, it should easily conceal these issues without a problem. The finish feels semi-matte to me almost hydrating but not quite. It does not accentuate my drier patches and settles over them like a second-skin even hiding them almost.

I get a great wear from this with a 12 hour day under my belt and not an issue of fading at all. Good BB Creams rarely fade or oxidize on me which is one reason I prefer them over any other coverage.

It has a fairly nice sun protection as well at SPF 37 PA++. However, I always feel like I need to really pile it on to get that sort of protection so using sunscreen prior would be a smarter idea.

Overall, Holika Holika Peach Girl BB Cream is one of those no nonsense BB Creams that delivers excellent wear in a fuller coverage formula that creates flawless, beautiful skin with breathable, weightless coverage. As for the peachy lip and cheek cream, that’s just a fun extra isn’t it?

Glad you’re back to doing some Korean beauty products, Muse!
This has been on my wants list and I’m really tempted to get this, but the new Sweets line for Etude is also calling my name…

    • the Muse

glad to hear it tiffany as not everyone likes them. 🙂 yeah been reviewing the sweet recipe collection recently def cute stuff!

  • Jess

Hmm, I’ve yet to like a holika holika bb cream (I have the moisture petit and watery petit) because they oxidize very orangey on my skin, but this one looks nice. I might consider trying it out (it’s not to often that I see things that would work on skin paler than nc15).

  • Nat

    Mmmm, Muse this looks great!

I was in Seattle this past weekend for Emerald City Con (got to meet Ben Templesmith and Jhonen Vasquez! EEEE!!), and was saddened by the lack of Asian cosmetics to buy there…only place I could find was a tiny counter at Uwajimaya. Anyone know of a good place to hit up next time I go? :O

  • CinnaBunnie

oooo! i have this in #2 but it’s still a little light for me. My skin isn’t as nice as yours so the coverage is not enough for me. What shade do you have?

    • the Muse

this is shade 1 cinnabunnie! I’m surprised 🙁 it offers fairly excellent coverage!

  • Lisa

I always wanted to try this, but every time I look for swatches, the shades they offer are definitely not for me.

  • Emily

Ohhh this looks adorable! What a clever combo, and the peach color is delightful. I will have to pick this up on my next trip to Korea!

  • Rebekah

Which shade is that? I looked and didn’t see if it was #1 or #2. 🙂

  • Chelsea

This stuff was great when I tried it, but too much for my sensitive skin. The shade wasn’t bad at all (I’ve not been shade-matched by MAC, but I’m definitely less than an NC15). My favorite face product right now is the Missha Signature BB Cream in 13.

  • Jackie

    Hi Muse!
Is that the shade 1 or 2 you have there?
I think I may be too dark for most Korean bb creams now (about nc30) I think the only one I have that’s dark enough is the missha perfect cover in the new shade 27)

    • the Muse

that’d be 1 jackie 🙂 don’t say that as many adapt well 🙂 it’s just a matter of finding a good one!

  • Ashley

One BB cream that smells like nice peaches is the skinfood Peach Sake BB Cream!

    • couture lady

I have the skinfood peach sake BB cream it smells AMAZINGGGGG but it makes me soooo oily after a few hours 🙁

  • Spooki

Quite fond of this one, gives a flawless finish. My oily forehead doesn’t care much for it but it wears very well over all.

  • Angela

Purchase this myself, and I have to agree with you that this is a wonderful product. Wears great even for my oily skin.

  • crotchfairy

I just have to to know. What is that lip product you’re wearing? You look dashing.

    • the Muse

aw thanks crotchfairy that would be pop of cherry from maybelline’s LE vivids.

  • Susan

I use the darker of the two shades and love it during the winter time! I seem to get a little too oily with it in the t-zone in the summer. It has a nice finish and covers well.

  • Danii

I was considering buying this! Because of the nice little added benefit of the cheek tint. XD I didn’t though, instead went for SKIN79 Hot Pink Enterlongnamehere BB Cream on Amazon. I also grabbed a Rilakkuma case for cheap.

  • Eli

I’ve been eyeing this for quite a long time now, but I think I’ll try the Face Shop oil-free BB, as this might prove a bit heavy on my skin 🙁

  • HapaGirl

Gorgeous look you’re rocking up there, Muse! Love those red lips. I have this in shade #2 and although I like the formula for my combo-oily skin, it’s a bit too light for me to wear except in the winter (when of course my skin leans dry!). Nice formula though, I should try to creme blush already. Are you wearing it in the photo?

    • the Muse

hi hapa thanks dear! 🙂 yeah, that’s the blush on my cheeks.

  • Eileen

Muse…Please, more Korean BB creams. I have finally found that these wonderful little concoctions actually will match(but not until 5 minutes after application) my fair, pink skin tone. I have tried several, but I am in search for my Holy Grail. Foundation, skincare, and sunscreen all in one makes the Korean BB creams a worthwhile purchase for saving time and money and looking good in the process….

    • the Muse

eileen if you check the bb cream archives I have a ton of great reviews 😀 Def agreed, they are marvelous and so happy you discovered the joy! yay!

  • Cj

I really don’t think your nc30, nc25 might be pushing it even. You said you wear brtc jasmine bb cream right? That’s almost a perfect match for me (a tad too pink based) so unless it color matches like cray cray on you I don’t think your that dark lol

    • the Muse

i need to go to mac and get shaded ;-D I’ve NO idea what shade I am in mac foundations, I’m kinda saying nc25? but not sure?! I’m surprise jasmine is a good match for you, that’s kinda creamy beige.

      • Gabriella

I have to agree with cj, Muse! I’m nw30 and my skin is quite a bit darker than yours. I’m Italian and have that tanned look if that give you an idea of my coloring lol. I know you aren’t color matched though so its ok haha I hope I’m not coming off as being mean!

        • the Muse

you’re not mean at all gabriella…I haven’t a clue what my shade is in mac ;-D def should get fitted! 😀

          • Cj

When I go to NY we’ll spend the day at MAC n get you all fixed up 😉

          • Cj

Well if I put myself in a box and ship overnight via FedEx I should be there sometime tomorrow
, hopefully they don’t have to cut me in half…

          • the Muse

oh you’d be no use to me cut in half perhaps eyelash glue to put you back together!? I’m waiting on my porch for you now. I’ll sleep out here staking the fed ex man for your arrival!

          • Cj

Oooh gurl be careful last time I did that my FedEx guy got a restraining order on me 🙁

          • Christi

I’d say you’re an NC 25, maybe NW. But def not NC30. You def should go get matched just so u can stop guessing lol.

          • the Muse

I don’t use mac foundation so that’s why I’ve never bothered having them check my shade 🙂

  • Cj

Lol and I’m surprised it matches you 😛 if it were more yellow toned it’d be perfect for me. Have you tried their “auto makeup pat” thingy? I bought the bb cream in a set with it, I am seriously loving it who knew a vibrating sponge would apply makeup so beautifully lol

    • the Muse

ugh I have one with the Etude House Set and HATE it but very tempted to try the BRTC set to see if it is better. Every tried Lancome’s Oscillation (spelling?)? awesome powder foundation, vibrating sponge, works incredible!

  • Tiffany Martin

I have this one (shade 1), I really like it too. The coverage does a lot for when my skin is broken out, and it doesn’t make my skin oily like some of my other BB’s do. It also seems to last forever.

I don’t use the blusher though, as it accentuates my pores like crazy. Never tried it with a good primer, so maybe that would cure the issue but without something to help the surface of my skin is like looking at the moon >:

  • Christi

Btw, I am so glad ur back to reviewing more Korean beauty products! I’m obsessed with them! Keep the Asian reviews comin’!

  • Christi

Yeah, I don’t wear Mac foundations either, but I love their bb cream compact!

  • Heather

Looks fabulous on you and I love the peachy bonus! I’m using lioele triple the solution bb cream at the moment but I just recently bought missha perfect cover bb cream so waiting for that to come in the mail. After trying the lioele bb cream recently I think I prefer them to foundations too as they make my skin look really smooth.

  • Heather

It’s alright, I found the happy booster translucent face powder review 🙂

  • Ella

I just got this yesterday and I love it. I’m a touch lighter than NW15 and it’s perfect on me.

  • Jen

I’m a pale skinned redhead, and this cream is my holy grail! Fair enough for my skin, and leaves it with a soft, dewey complexion. The coverage is good over any redness, but sheer enough that my freckles still shine through if I want. A little heavier application hides them. The blush is perhaps the best thing ever. Really, I can’t say enough good things about it!

  • Monica

I have been in the search for a good bb cream I find for me i dont like using foundations as much anymore I dont like the heavy feel so I turned to tinted moisterizer laura mercier I love her. I also come to find I want to experiment w bb creams but the western kind dont do much for me. ugh any opinions on what to try?

    • the Muse

hi monica check under my archives “Bb cream” I have a TON of reviews/suggestions 🙂

  • HeatherAnn

Do you have a current link for where I can get this in shade 1? I’ve been looking all day and I can’t find that shade anywhere! Maybe it’s discontinued?

  • Tina

    My wife loves this cream…

Do you have a current link for where I can get this in shade 1?

I’ve been looking for a while and I can’t find that shade anywhere!

And there appears to be only a few shade 2’s left…

Shame if no longer being made… Is there somthing to replace it ?
