NYX Wonder Pencil Review & Swatches

NYX Wonder Pencil

The NYX Wonder Pencil is indeed, just that, a wonder! However, it might need a little bit more of a creamier texture to win me over.

Take a peek!

Introducing the NYX Wonder Pencil available in Light, Medium, and Deep shades for $4.50.

NYX accomplishes multitasking glory with their new Wonder Pencil as it can be used in any number of ways on face AND eyes. Got a blemish? Swipe a little wonder pencil over it to conceal and pat powder on top to set. Got issues with your lipstick feathering? No problem! Line with Wonder Pencil to keep your lipstick from migrating. Eyes looking a little tired? Use on your water line to brighten eyes up instantly.

Of course, I wouldn’t recommend covering a zit up and proceeding to use the pencil on your eyes after! Considering how cheap these pencils are perhaps one for your face and one for your eyes is a wise choice.

NYX Wonder Pencil Swatches

The pencil has a matte finish with a creamier yet drier texture. It works a treat on my face and has a soft, easy glide however, I experience a bit of tugging when using it on my eyes (no worries, I had two pencils when testing so eye to face and back again was not happening). It has excellent pigmentation for covering smaller, pesky blemishes however, that pigment is tested a bit due to the drier texture when trying to apply on your waterline. I find they tug a fair bit when using on my waterline. They need a little bit of a warm up period so I kinda had to line and re-line it to get it on properly.

Outside of that issue I thought they were a pretty darn good deal considering the pricing on a simple nude pencil from more higher end and mid range brands.

I never really got the nude pencil trend but I’m slowing starting to understand the multitasking joy of one. I tried the deepest shade and I have to say it works a heck of a lot better on my water line in comparison to a paler shade which looked ghastly. It really did brighten my eyes up!

Likes! But it does need to be a bit more creamier to work better on my waterline!

This little multitasking genius is available at Ulta as well as online at www.nyxcosmetics.com

it is indeed the dark shade and a GREAT match for me even though I’m medium fair tone. 😀 It looks a lot more natural on my waterline than the fair did ;-D I think Ulta has it as well online 🙂

  • Kiss & Make-up

Ehh, I don’t know, doesn’t look so wondrous to me… I honestly don’t know what I would use it for.

I’ve always been a fan of a nude pencil for the waterline! With some mascara, tinted lip balm, and cream blush, it makes for a great no makeup makeup look!

I’m disappointed however, that nyx didn’t make any darker shades! Especially now that you say the darker shade works best on you, seeing as you’re quite light on the spectrum of skin tones!

Anyway, I use Rimmels nude Scandal Eyes pencil, it’s cheap, and creamy, and perfect! They also have a taupe shade for darker beauties!
All the pencils ive tried from that range are spectacular!
Check em out if you haven’t already!

I haven’t gotten my hands on the rimmel one but hearing great things about it Simone 😀

Love these! I have both and the nude is perfect in the waterline and the taupe is great since I’m fair and it looks like my lashes are just naturally thick and dark!;)

I agree about the Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude as a great option for the waterline. I also have Tarte emphaseyes and the Rimmel has better staying power on the waterline!

I’ll be receiving this (among other fun things!) in the mail tomorrow! Can’t wait to try it for myself! Glad to know, I’m likely to be at least somewhat pleased!! 🙂
