MAC Fashion Sets Lipglass 6

MAC’s new Fashion Sets Collection is a range of coordinating and matching lips, tips, and eye goodies that are launching for Spring 2013.

I admit I’m one for matching! So of course MAC Fashion Sets is ideal for me (must be my OCD behavior that demands I match my lips and eyeshadow).

Take a look!

MAC Fashion Sets Lipglass Swatches

Ablaze and Embrace Me

MAC Fashion Sets consists of four shades of lipglass (as well as lipstick, polish, eyeshadow, and lip pencils) two of which I tried out recently. These are quite bold shades and will make fun additions to your wardrobe for Summer.

Embrace Me is a bright fuchsia cream that offers true to tube color on lips. Yes, the formula is very much MAC’s typical vanilla flavored and scented lipglass with a tacky, sticky finish. I’ve made my peace with MAC’s gloss formula and you should too as all that stickiness makes for a heck of a long wear time. Although not a fond fan of such a loud shade of fuchsia I thought the color was rather stunning and it provides full opaque coverage so you’re getting a glossy finish and plenty of pigment for your buck here.

Likewise with the shade Ablaze which is a bright orange cream with some coral. This actually has amazing potential as you can tone it down, wear it on top of a coral lipstick or a stain, and do any number of fabulous cocktails with the shade to create some rather fabulous looks. It’s not so bright an orange that it would be deemed unwearable as the hints of coral make it more than pretty. Although it looks warm I’d lean towards saying it has elements of cool to it as well which means it’ll suit a wide array of skin tones. The color also has a pigmented finish with full opaque coverage.

Fashion Sets is definitely a fairly great round of pigmented colors from what I’ve seen so far! Well worth exploring for those who like bold.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. The lipsticks and the Ablaze shadow. Love! A little more muted than the gloss? I am so glad I managed to get these.
Muse, I love you btw. I am getting so many products I wouldn’t get if not for your heads up…wow. Of course there is all that money I’m spending…
But I do look better and would be wearing makeup anyway.

Ablaze is gorgeous, I definitely need it asap. I tried on Embrace Me , but did not feel as though I could justify having that and Girl About Town.

Muse I’m a matcher as well…and one for diversity. I like my lipstick to match my outfit and it’s a rare week that I actually do my makeup the same from day to day…I have to change it up daily or I get bored of looking at myself! Ha! 🙂

lol miss d ;-D I’m sometimes a creature of habit too and end up doing the same look for a few days but honestly I love matching…it’s just my thing might be corny but it works for me ;-D

I got the same exact colors thinking how they would look when applied (specially the orange one). I have not seen them yet because I live abroad but thanks for posting these! I now know I made the right decision!
