Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream Review

Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream

Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream might be the perfect solution to your Summer skincare. This weightless gel moisturizer doesn’t only hydrate skin but continues to provide moisture through the wear without feeling heavy, greasy, or making skin shine.

Oh yeah and it contains snail slime.

Don’t get scared. I promise snail secretion won’t be the death of you. Containing a heaping dose of snail mucus, slime, secretion, whatever you wish to call it this HIGHLY moisturizing gel cream is a beautifully textured moisturizer and one of the better snail skincare products I’ve tried.

Supposedly snail extract firms skin while providing intense moisture and treating issues such as dark spots and dullness.

This has a delightful fresh scent, kinda cucumber smelling, with a fresh water gel-like texture that absorbs easily and leaves skin dewy to the touch. I’d recommend it for daily and nightly use if you have drier skin but would avoid day use if you have oily skin as it might be a tad too moisturizing for such a skin type. The thing I like about it is the fact it provides moisture on contact but also delivers it throughout the day so skin feels soft, smooth, and hydrated for hours on end.

It’ll make a very good moisturizer for me come Summer as its light and weightless without being greasy or leaving my skin shiny.

Note: I’ve read a variety of articles about how snail slime is collected and all seem like a cruelty-free process however, you might wish to discuss it with Missha further if you’re concerned about the process of making this product as I am not an expert at how snail secretion is collected.

I’ve tried it with a sample, and it feels very nice, inded. The scent is so bubble-gum like 🙂

  • Heather

I keep getting free samples of snail slime skin care when I buy other asian products from ebay. I just can’t seem to allow myself to put it on my face though. Snails are so cute but annoying when they eat the garden!

  • Christi

This looks perfect for summer, I have to try it! Speaking of snail slime, I can’t wait to get the it Cosmetics CC Cream, which contains a big amount, snail slime is the second ingredient, and the CC cream is made in Korea too, so I’ve got high hopes for it!

  • bebe

I must try this. My skin is normal-oily, but I can use it every other night after exfoliating. Also, my hands are always dry no matter what I use, so maybe this can help. And the jar itself is to die for..so beautiful. Is it glass?

    • the Muse

hi bebe it’s actually not a hand cream, it’s a moisturizer for your face 🙂 it isn’t glass but a heavier plastic, quite lovely though!

  • bebe

Thanks, Muse. I think I will try it. I trust your reviews, so I know I will love it. P.S., I got my Baby Choux Base last week and it makes my skin look sooo nice. I may even get the Berry. Thanx again.

    • the Muse

yay bebe! so glad to hear baby choux worked for you! LOVE it! I purchased back ups ;-D do try berry! thank you btw very flattered when someone says they trust my reviews 🙂 <3!

  • Coco

I’ve been looking for a lightweight gel-texture moisturiser for the upcoming warm months! Gonna try this, thanks for your review!

  • Angel

hello, i’m kinda new with these skin care products. All these times I only apply toner and emulsion before applying bb cream. But my korean friends said I need to do these step : toner -> emulsion -> essence -> cream before applying any kind of make up stuffs (including bb cream). The thing is, I’ve been using etude toner & emulsion, but seems can’t find any essence or daily etude cream. Then, I saw your missha snail cream review. I honestly interested in this product after I saw your review, but do you think it’s okay to use different product instead of etude? And I have combination-dry skin type. Is it okay for me? And one more question, do you have any suggestion which essence product is great?

  • magpie

Muse, I admit it–not only am I a lurker, but a shamefully inconsistent one! It’s been months since my last comment, sorry. All excuses aside, though, I’m amazed that, after I finally decide to look up product reviews for my first beauty product in months, what I’d considered to be an obscure Korean snail cream, your blog comes up with a great take on it. is there ANYTHING in the beauty world that you don’t get to first? 🙂

Anyway, <3 and thanks for the intel. You're still the best!

    • the Muse

lol that’s quite alright dear how are you today? LOL! I’m flattered ;D I feel awful helpful now…! hehe! <3! Love ya!

  • Sharnie

Hi, I have really bad pronounced white scars with three pink ones. All are very large, stomach, legs and arms. What product would you suggest as there are a few snail creams? Thanks

  • mina

hi miss muse, is this Missha Super Aqua Cell Renew Snail Cream can minimize your big pores? thanks!

    • the Muse

hi mina no…..I don’t think any product will minimize big pores, it’s more about concealing them than actually “treating” them 🙂

  • Leeanne

I have been using this product for the past year. It is amazing! I live in Alaska and this is the most hydrating product that keeps the dry “winter skin” at bay. Makes your skin glow. The product looks and feels like an aloe gel. Forget about the snails.

  • Becky Bye

I always read your blog and I agree the Missha snail cream is one of my favourites too! I have written a post on my blog too and would love if you could give it a read 🙂
