Nip + Fab Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix

Snail mucus
, snake venom, viper venom…it’s all the rage in Asia and we get taste of it with Nip + Fab Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix this Spring.

Nip + Fab Fiver Venom Wrinkle Fix is a new and very interesting primer slash serum that does a little number on those fine lines that might be popping up on your face.

Take a peek!

Ok, I don’t have fine lines on my face but I still tried this out of morbid curiosity to see what it was all about. It’s a $19.99 skin refining serum that’s to be used prior to moisturizer and makeup. It basically acts as not only a serum of sorts but a primer prior to makeup.

Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix supposedly contains something called Liftonin-Express + Syn-Ake which are basically two ingreidents created by Nip + Fab. Skyn-Axe is a neuropeptide according to the brand which inhibits neuromediators implicated in the contraction of innervated muscle cells which provides a mild botox-like effect on skin. Liptonin-Express provides a tightening effect that lasts for a few hours.

I actually tried the serum twice and hated it. It’s awful if you don’t have finely lined skin. I can understand the effect and finish it will probably provide on aging more mature skin than my own as it tightens and kinda feels like it pulls skin back. I imagine this tightening sensation along with the pulling will blur the appearance of fine lines and reduce them. It’s an interesting technique and I’m guessing on fine lines it’ll probably soften their appearance.

Nip + Fab Viper Venom Wrinkle Fix Swatches

I didn’t LOVE that tightness it provided but I’d really love to see what this could on aging skin. It might just be a rather cool effect.

According to Nip + Fab it acts to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while softening and smoothing them and giving a freeze-like effect. For me it almost feels numbing…now I know what botox feels like ha!

The gel-like texture absorbs easily but as it goes into dry down and set mode and that’s when the tightening effect sets in.

I guess I better put this on the shelf and revisit it in a few years. It’s a very interesting product and I’m hoping a reader with finely lined skin may have tried it will leave a comment as I’d like to hear about their experience.

It’s available now at Ulta stores and Ulta.com

Please do comment if you tried!

Would love to hear!

LOL! Interesting review. Disappointing as I was hoping this would be a winner. However, it sounds like you might achieve the same effect with egg whites. ROFL! 😉

I’m old and have some fine lines, send it to me I’ll try it and let you know, lol!

Hmmm, I wonder if I could use this under my eyes to de-wrinkle?! It almost sounds like that Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle stuff. Does this leave any white residue on your skin? If not, I’m totally game to try this. That Unwrinkle stuff de puffs and flattens my eye wrinkles like magic. Only problem is the white residue it leaves behind. It’s fixable, but these may be easier.

Oh dear, it sounds almost…dangerous! You may want to throw that tube in the garbage…

From years of makeup, I did find that it led to more wrinkles. BUT, if you wear a serum under the makeup, it totally helps and it even makes the makeup set and look better. I have been very satisfied with the Lady Soma Renewal Serum to control the wrinkles under my makeup.

My skin really does glow when I use the Lady Soma Serum, so I never let myself run out! The serum made the crepey wrinkles at my lash line disappear. Now I can put on eyeliner and it never skips – that improvement came shortly after I started using it and it remains to this day, even though I’m in my late 30s. The serum perks up my skin and works well under makeup.

I gave this product a chance to perform, however, it didn’t play nice with other makeup. It formed those annoying little clumps that I couldn’t blend away.

I have this , I find if you let it dry and then put your moisturizer on then let that dry your make up does stay on much longer and no clumps, and does give you that freeze feel effect, but is not long lasting , ie its something you have to keep buying and the tube does not last that long , I also bought the viper venom eye fix , which is cooling on the eye especially if you use it before bed.
As to if I look younger the jury is out on that one, but it does make me feel good so, I am happy.
