Jill Stuart Passion Fruit Jelly Eye Color Review & Swatches

Jill Stuart Passion Fruit Jelly Eye Color Summer 2013

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color in Passion Fruit is one of three new, limited edition shades released for Summer 2013 in Japan. Prepare to be amazed if you’re a fan of Jelly Eye Color because seriously there is like NO sparkle in this shade.

GASP!

HORROR!

What?!

Truest story ever.

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color is typically packed full of shimmer. I’m talking bits of delightful glittery goodness in almost every single shade so I was quite shocked after purchasing Passion Fruit and not seeing any shimmer at all!

I kinda sorta want to say that this shade reminds me of a shimmer-free Bird Flutter which was released last year and no longer available but the color is a softer, almost pastel shade of coral. It’s quite pretty but I must admit that the lack of shimmer doesn’t have as much impact on the shade as I would like.

This comes in a little glass jar with a gorgeous silver topper. It’s Jill Stuart’s typical legendary elegant packaging! It’s stunning and looks quite lovely on a vanity, it’s not the type of makeup you simply stash away! It’s definitely for displaying.

The formula is a whipped fluffy consistency with a lightweight feel on lids. It blends easily and builds just as easily with a slower set time so you have plenty of time to work. I’ve always found these cream shadows a breeze to apply and use. A small dab on fingers and you can easily smooth it into place for a gorgeous eye look. They have a sweet rose scent that’s very pleasant. They typically wear strong for me so long as I have eyeshadow primer on but they tend to crease at hour six without and fade away completely into hour seven. With primer I can get a solid 12 hours wear without any issues of fading or creasing.

I have to admit I miss the shimmer….! I navigate to Jelly Eye Color due to the sparkle factor and without it this just seems like a sheer creamy eyeshadow without any real pull for me.

Le sigh…

Aw the sadness of a Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color without shimmer.

But….

If you’ve always loved the formula but hated the shimmer you’ll be quite happy with this!

I got mine directly from Japan but I’m sure Adambeauty.com will be getting Jill Stuart Summer 2013 in shortly.

I purchased this item.

Are these comparable in texture to the chanel cream shadows?

    • the Muse

no not at all, these are a light fluffy mousse…chanel has more of a spongy texture.

Omg! I might just grab it because of the lack of shimmer :B I love Jill Stuart but the shimmers kind of kept me away of it… Now it’s time to throw my money at them! Hahaha

Oh Muse, I LOVEZ me the jelly eye. I picked up one shade in Japan (a super sparkly rose pink), and I really wish I had bought more! I love how it feels all cold on your eyelid when you apply it. 🙂
