L’Oreal Glow Renewal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Moisturizer Review
You might recall I recently reviewed the new Glow Renewal Oil that L’Oreal introduced recently and today I thought I’d review the new moisturizer that was released along side it.
This new Glow Renewal Collection addresses older, drier, duller skin. I have drier skin and duller but I don’t really have aging skin as of yet but I decided to try both of these items out since they promises to be intensely moisturizing and really my skin can use all the moisture it can get.
Let’s take a look!
L’Oreal Glow Renewal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Moisturizer ($24.99) is an excellent moisturizer for drier skin but I would not recommend heading out just yet to purchase it. No matter how dry your skin is you won’t be using this until Winter as it is VERY, very rich and I find it makes my drier skin a little more oily in the warmer weather. I’d recommend holding off until we head into Winter as it’ll make a perfect PM moisturizer to sooth dehydrated skin and restore much needed hydration.
This comes in a glass jar with a gold glass topper. It’s quite an elegant piece of skincare for something purchased at the drugstore however, the jar packaging leaves much to be desired as air getting into the product and the fact you’re dipping into with fingers will pretty much destroy the formula with daily use sadly.
I wouldn’t recommend this for those who have sensitive skin as it is highly fragranced and that fragrance might upset more sensitive skin. I personally find the fragrance very fresh and pleasant.
This has a heavier creamy texture which absorbs easily and doesn’t leave skin greasy or oily once applied. I do have issues in the AM after I shower. Apparently after applying in the PM all is fine but in the AM when I’m starting out my day I feel like my skin produces far more oily than it does on the days I do not use this. I blame it on the richer more moisturizing formula as I imagine it would be fine in the Winter when my skin craves all that extra moisture.
It’s the perfect companion piece to the oil as you can apply that first and this on top for added moisture. And I’m talking serious moisture here! If you have finer lines due to dryness or just suffer from flaky areas and patchiness this will ease that easily. It doesn’t actually treat fine lines but it does nourish skin and restores moisture so skin looks and feels more supple and less dull. I suffer from duller skin due to dryness and this is the ideal moisturizer for restoring glow to my lackluster skin.
Overall, L’Oreal Glow Renewal Age Perfect Hydra-Nutrition Moisturizer won’t be the best pick for everyone. I think it’s a moisturizer only true drier skin can appreciate. However, if you fit into that demographic I think you’ll be very happy with this very rich, very creamy, very hydrating moisturizer!
It’s available now at drugstores.
