Bare Minerals Locked & Coated Waterproof Lash Topcoat Review
I was the first one to say, well, what’s the point of Bare Minerals Locked & Coated Waterproof Lash Topcoat? Why do we need a waterproof mascara topcoat? Can’t we just buy waterproof mascara and call it a day?
But actually Bare Minerals Locked & Coated Waterproof Lash Topcoat comes in handy!
Bare Minerals Locked & Coated Waterproof Lash Topcoat ($12) is an invisible topcoat that you can use in conjunction with any non waterproof mascara formula and it basically gives your mascara a waterproof finish. I don’t really have issues with waterproof and non waterproof mascaras running, smudging, etc…my eyes are drier sot this could be the reason why I don’t run into many issues with this.
So it did cross my mind, “hey, this is pointless for me!” But I can see it being a handy product for those with smudging issues. This goes on quickly and easily over your average, ordinary non waterproof mascara. It’s a transparent gel and doesn’t change anything about your regular mascara. It doesn’t clump, doesn’t make them stiff, etc…it feels sticky at first but dries down in seconds. Waterproof mascara itself can prove heavier so non waterproof mascara might be a better option for those that wish to keep curl and not weight lashes down. This gel actually doesn’t add any weight to lashes so it allows you to have the lighter texture of a non waterproof formula with the wear of one that is. It does seal mascara in place as it is a little more difficult to remove at the end of the day. I tested it out by giving it time to set and proceed to swim with it on plus I rubbed my eyes a bit with it as well to see what would happen. Mascara stayed perfectly in place.
The inexpensive price tag also makes it a rather good pick up too if you have a large variety of non waterproof mascaras in your arsenal that you wish were a waterproof formula as this can easily convert them to one.
Of course, you can just go with a waterproof formula and call it a day. But for those that wish for the lighter texture of a non waterproof formula without adding extra weight this is an excellent pick! And of course, as I mentioned, those with a wide range of non waterproof mascaras they already own who wish to make them waterproof.
Interesting product.
