The MAC Antonio Lopez 3 Lips/Red Palette ($27.50) is one of three new limited edition lipstick palettes that MAC will introduce on September 12th. I don’t particularly love lipstick palettes as I prefer a more traditional swivel up and apply from the tube application when it comes to my lippies. Something about a lip brush makes me curl my nose up and turn away.
However, I must admit I have my own little stash of lip palettes from MAC that I’ve grown to love and this MAC Antonio Lopez 3 Lips/Red Palette would be one.
This contains essential reds that can be mixed together or worn individually. The palette is actually a good deal smaller in size compared to past lip compacts MAC has done. It’s a tiny square design with an illustration framed on the cover by Antonio Lopez. Inside is a tiny mirror and brush for application. I actually love the size as it makes it very travel friendly without taking up a ton of space in your makeup bag. When you’re traveling it’s so easy to overdo things and you end up taking way too much makeup with you. This size is ideal for traveling!
The three shades you get are Scarlet Ibis which is a orange-y matte, MAC Red which is a satin blue red, and Deeply Adored which is a rich scarlet matte. I have to say for matte shades these were pretty well and don’t dry my lips out in the least nor do they look dry on. Granted they aren’t going to provide any real moisture but they don’t take it any away either in my experience. They wear quite a long and strong as well without feathering or migrating and leave a staining effect behind once they fade.
I mixed a bit of MAC Red with Deeply Adored and a little clear gloss for my look below.
The palette on a whole is a bit expensive for this size but it’s so travel friendly plus add in the cute packaging and you might feel the $27 is worth the splurge especially if you love red lip looks!
It’ll launched on counter and online September 12th from MAC Cosmetics.
