Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case 1

The Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case ($44) is the second all in one face palette that Urban Decay is releasing with their Holiday 2013 Collection. This little two tier palette contains products for eyes, lips, and cheeks in a small size that makes it nifty for traveling or stashing away at your boyfriend’s apartment or in your desk drawer for quickie looks on the go.

Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case

Let’s take a look!

The Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case is probably the more innocent of the two face palettes that Urban Decay is launching. Where as the Shattered Palette includes sultry, smoky looks the Anarchy Face Case is all about crisp, cooler shades that kinda remind me of the MAC Glitter and Ice Collection. This indeed reminds me of the cool icy feel of Winter and the Holidays! The palette is available for a limited time so if you are interested don’t hesitate as Urban Decay is legendary for selling out of palettes quickly lately!

Where as the Shattered Palette contains all exclusive and new shades the Anarchy combines some new and some old. It’s a two tier design with a rather wicked baroque inspired design with a silver UD logo and an off white casing. The case has a certain Marie Antoinette vibe. The two tier design includes two mirrors located at the top and bottom portion of the palette. Five shadows are housed in the top compartment along with a mini 247 Glide On Eyeliner and Full Size Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color where as the bottom contains two blushes and a highlighter. Shadows are 0.03 oz in size versus the single shades that Urban Decay sells which are 0.05 oz.

Here’s what you get:

  • Redemption (deep gunmetal satin)
  • Fray (warm mauve matte)
  • Vaporize (deep metallic gray taupe shimmer)
  • Provocateur (light metallic mauve shimmer with multidimensional micro glitter)
  • Revolt (bright metallic silver shimmer with silver micro glitter)

  • Fetish (mauve pink)
  • Quickie (bright pink)

  • Craze (pale gold shimmer)

  • Full Size Urban Decay Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in Scandal (bright metallic raspberry shimmer)

Urban Decay Travel Size 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Perversion (blackest black)

Looks like my wish for Perversion is granted. Where as the Shattered Face Case contains Zero they went ahead and included Perversion with this Face Case! It’s my personal HG (holy grail) black eyeliner and no girl or guy in my opinion should be without it. The Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Color Pencil in Scandal looks like it would have been better suited with the smoky shades included with the Shattered Face Case! This is a vibrant bright metallic fuchsia shimmer.

These shadows are definitely more user friendly for me than the ones in Shattered simply because they are lighter colors. The theme is more of a crisp, cool Wintery look with silver, mauve, and taupe creating a Wintery Wonderland eye look. Be warmed though Revolt and Provocateur have a bit of fall out woe to contend with but the high metallic finish might just be worth the hassle of application. These shades have an almost cream texture in the form of a powder!

I’m still a little on the fence with the blush portions of the Face Cases as they just don’t seem like a typical Urban Decay formula. They blend easily enough, have a high pigmented finish, and have a silky feel. I will say that Fetish is lovely color that quite reminds me of NARS Outlaw. The highlighter portion is a pale golden shimmer.

Craze (highlighter), Quickie, Fetish

Overall, the Urban Decay Anarcy Face Case is going to have a little healthy competition with the Vice 2 Palette releasing at the same time. You’ll just have to remind yourself are you looking for more eyeshadows? Or are you looking for a complete face kit for your eyes, lips, and cheeks. Of course, you do get a bit more for $15 more with the Vice 2 Palette but the Face Cases offer more variety of products. If you’re looking for a crisp, cool look for the Holidays this brings it.

The Urban Decay Anarchy Face Case launches today at and will be available shortly at Sephora and exclusively.

Will you grab it up?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. The Anarchy Face Case appeals to me more than the Shattered Face Case. I notice that you don’t have your usual pictures of you wearing the product. Will you be posting pictures of you wearing the items from the Anarchy Face Case? Also, Do you like the Scandal lip color?

    • the Muse

sorry georgia will def try to get some fotd photos live of both palettes ๐Ÿ™‚ I do indeed, it isn’t a shade I’d typically wear but adore how bright and bold it is ;-D

      • Agrona

Just FYI, Lovechild and Scandal are available separately at

  • Cristi

I LOVE the mirrored top of the case on this one! But I don’t know about that white plastic. Also, I feel a little “meh” about the shadow colors in this one…

Perhaps an FOTD on pretty Musey could change my mind? ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Aditi

Muse I’m sitting here in the corner of the lab frantically clawing at the screen at all the holiday offerings!

Do you think the shades from both Face Cases will suit warm toned, darker skinned gals? I love the shades buuuuuuuuut they pretty cool toned…

    • the Muse

lol aditi! I hear ya I hear ya…mmmm depends on the looks you like creating…the blushes should be fine for darker skin ladies however, the shadows might be a little cool but still hardcore metallic which can def look nice on darker skin tones when done up right ๐Ÿ˜€

      • Aditi

Mmmmmmmm add one more to the list then! I love metallics, I think they look great on everyone.

Can’t wait to see your FOTD for this (and the rest of the UD holiday offerings), your lovely face has a way of making everything look amazing! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Michelle

I got the Shattered case but the Anarchy case wasn’t listed on the UD website. Did I miss it already? I really want this one as well. I guess I will have to wait for it to be listed @ Sephora.

  • Ashley

This would make a great gift for someone! Love the packaging. Might just slurge and get this for my boss for her bday/xmas, cuz its around the same time!

  • deathbyglitter

I am majorly lusting over the Anarchy Face Case. The beautiful colors…the stunning finishes…the gorgeous packaging…and the cherry on top, Scandal! *swoon* I haven’t spazzed this much over a palette in so long! I know I’d use it A LOT too. I love every single item in this Face Case, even Provocateur with it’s fallout, lol. XD Provocateur is such a gorgeous color and I love the finish so…I’d be willing to put in extra effort to manage the fallout. I wear bright lippies all the time so I’m totally in love with Scandal. The blushes are super pretty and I love the highlighter! They all seem like it would work really well with my skintone (very pale/very neutral). I want this so bad!!!

Thank you so much for your beautiful photos and great review! <3

  • Daisy

I like the shadows from this collection but the blush and lipstick from the other collection. Sigh….what’s a girl to do?

  • Lisa C

Love this, looks so beautiful. But I’m not sure how this would look on my 50 yr old eyes. How much glitter is in there? I love shimmer but always afraid of the glitter shadows.

    • the Muse

lisa not so much the glitter but the metallic finish on some of these colors might be a little too much for aging eyes….really depends how aging your eyes are though. take dryness, finer lines, and crepiness into consideration when deciding as I think heavier shades like this can really emphasize those issues :-/

  • Quinctia

Oh, you jerks, just suck it up and get rid of Zero. I swear, I’m about ready to boycott the palettes they put Zero in as a matter of course.

I was thinking about buying one of these for my sister as a gift. While she probably doesn’t care because she’s a liquid liner gal usually, I have half a mind to go with this one just because it has Perversion. XD

    • Agrona

So, so very in agreement with you. When I see Zero in a collection, my brainstem shoots painful jolts through me as a deterrent to acquiring even one more.

Particularly so in liner collections–out of 40-odd colors (and some not so odd ) there are plenty of other choices to stand in. Perhaps, perish the thought, we mightn’t always even need a black at all.

  • Buckeye beauty

I can’t wait to get this!!!!!! Only $44???? I’m stoked. I agree with you about the lip color seeming out of place. It looks gorgeous but I think I’d wear this look with a softer brighter pink maybe
