Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Ooky Perfume Oil

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Ooky Perfume Oil is one of several new Halloweenie Perfume Oils that are available for a limited time from the dear old Lab. Ooky originates from the British slang for unpleasant, off, weird, unusual but Ooky Perfume Oil is anything but!

It’s pumpkin and spice and everything nice about the Fall! If there was every a scent to embody Fall it would be Ooky (oh wait, I say that about all the foody-like perfume oils from the Lab don’t I?).

In the bottle Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab Ooky Perfume Oil is buttery and slightly sweet. On my skin wet it’s sweetened marzipan! Oh how I love marzipan and wait, what’s this? Sweet buttercream with a touch of lemon as well! Mmm cake-y, foody bliss…!

There’s more?

Yes, of course! As it dries down spicy pumpkin dominates and plays happily among the delicate folds of marzipan and buttercream for a creamy, spicy, comforting blend! At first it reminds me of a bright, sparkling cinnamon but as it deepens it’s pure spicy pumpkin goodness!

This one has a solid throw and an excellent wear of around six hours without morphing. I say this because sometimes cinnamon blends go a bit strange on me but this held its original spicy pumpkin goodness without morphing!

Candied pumpkin, marzipan, buttercream…oh my! Ooky? I say nay, more like delightfully and maybe frightfully delicious but never ooky!

I tried this and I must say, it smells freaking awesome! It’s all sweet and warm and slightly spicy … and .. and… it’s just wonderful! Too bad it smells just like cinnamon on my stupid skin. Oh well, I think It’d make a terrific room scent though. 🙂

I get the marzipan first and full on pumpkin spice as it dries down, a little while after a hint of the marzipan comes out! It’s gorgeousness 😀

Ok. You have turned me on to something new, again. I spent about 2hours looking and came up with : Alice in the pumpkin patch, Tarantula Fascinator, Mouse circus, Wolf’s heart and Ooky. I have got to narrow that down. Help! Anyone?!

    • the Muse

LOL kathy awesome! do you need just one or are you going with two?! 😀 I tried Alice in the Pumpkin Patch and Mouse Circus and Ooky all are lovely have not tried Tarantula Fascinator yet but since it is a Lilith blend it is bound to be awesome 😀 lol that was no help right?!

  • Kathy

I was thinking two but three is better than FIVE, right? And most are limited so I don’t want to miss them. Now I just have to decide Vice 2 or Kat’s Spellbinding and Tarte off the Cuff or Nars One Night stand cheek palette. Ahhhhhh

I got this and fell in love with the scent in the bottle…but on me it smelled like a spicy oriental, and my mum likened it to Dior’s Dune. *sigh* Not bad, but not exactly the bakery-meets-Honeydukes-Sweetshop I was wanting. Oh well, glad to hear that it worked out for you, Muse =)

oh hmmmm katie now that I think about it yeah I get a little Dior Dune too maybe! I wanted more bakery too! def wasn’t a honeydukes 🙁 but hey there’s always etsy for butter feel fragrance oils 😀
