Too Faced Be Merry & Bright Palettes

The Too Faced Be Merry & Bright Set ($45) is a limited edition set that features two palettes released with the Too Faced Holiday 2013 Collection. You get two eyeshadow palettes entitled Be Merry and Be Bright each containing six shadows each as well as two cheek colors and a full size Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara.

This a great set to break up and gift to two separate people if you want (chances are you’ll just want to keep both yourself though!).

Take a look!

At $45 this is a truly value considering just purchasing the mascara alone would set you back $21 dollars! This includes twelve total shadows, four face products, full size mascara, and a bag!

The makeup bag was designed by celebrity designer Mary McDonald and the collection is a collaboration between Jerrod Blandino, founder of Too Faced Cosmetics, and Mary McDonald.

Across the board this is a stand out set with little trouble with any of the products in the collection. I had a small issue with Chocolate Moon which was a little drier than other shades in the collection but aside from that all the shadows apply like butter with very little fall out and absolutely no issues creasing or fading. Pigmentation is incredible on these shadows as with most all Too Faced Palettes. Too Faced rarely skimps on the quality of palettes so what you get in a single shade of shadow is the same quality as what you’d get in a palette. The shadows have an almost creamy-like texture and have a liquid metal, foiled look on lids.

The palettes are a cooler and a warmer set and each contains one bronzer and one blush each along with six shadows. The Too Faced Be Bright Palette is the cooler selection of shades and includes:
Eyeshadows:

  • Wish
  • Bright Eyes
  • Sequin

Marsmallow

  • Mauvelous
  • Starry Night

Bronzer:

  • Inner Light

Blush:

  • Lollipop

Inside each palette the mirror has been replaced with two instructional diagrams to create two looks using the palette so the two palettes can create four looks each using these guides (or endless looks using your imagination).

The shadows have an exceptional formula but the blushes and bronzers aren’t too shabby either. All four face powders have great pigmentation, a silky, easy to blend formula, and a long wear formula. As a lover of Orgasm-like shades Peachy Keen Blush particularly stands out for me as it’s a beautiful glow-y peach!

Overall, the Too Faced Be Merry & Bright Set is an exceptional value for getting or gifting. This a quality palette with excellent powder products that apply, wear, and perform beautifully! I love that I can easily break the set up and gift one to a friend and keep one for myself if I want! Although I happen to be a greedy beauty junkie so I’ll just keep both for myself….!

Oh so this is the Ulta exclusive one? I tried some of the colors from the palettes available at Sephora and wasn’t impressed by the quality of the shadows but these look like they have a lot of pigment. I might have to check this out…as if I need more holiday palettes though!!

I bought this set because I can never control myself where Too Faced is concerned. However if you bought any of their other sets this year or last then you own almost all these shades. At first glance I thought some of them might be slightly different. But after switching them side by side I noticed they’re exact- they just have different names. I’m pretty disappointed about that. Would it have killed them to come up with some new shades, and or finishes? It just feels really lazy.

I am so glad you like it and I love your glowing review and swatches. You know how I’ve become completely obsessed with Too Faced, so reading your positive comments makes me feel less guilty for indulging since it really is such a great deal for a top-notch product. That said, not only did I buy Be Merry & Bright from Ulta, I purchased A Few of My Favorite Things from Sephora, and Joy To The Girls from Too Faced. Merry Christmas to me!

Yes, it is a whole lot of Christmas self-gifting but my birthday is within days and I don’t usually get anything for that unless I buy myself presents.
